Final game of the regular season. Toronto needs a win to assure that it remains in the eighth playoff spot. New York was out of the playoff picture sometime back in June.

This is also the final soccer game ever in Giants Stadium, which will be torn down immediately following the current NFL season. A brand new Meadowlands Stadium is about 90% complete right next door, and of course a few kilometres to the south the magnificent Red Bull Arena is also about as far along.

It's a shame that such a storied venue as Giants Stadium will host its final soccer game with a field riddled with NFL lines, but since there is a Giants game scheduled for the next day, that's the way it'll happen.

And the weather will be awful too despite being warm and sunny for 5 days prior! It's actually kind of a fitting end. Crap stadium, crap location.

The new stadium will be like a diamond in a pile of dog$hit (considering its still in New Jersey). The progress of the stadium can be viewed here: http://redbullarena.us/ (click on "Webcam")

Mid teens and rain on an artificial turf with football lines. What a way to finish the regular season! I have only seen a couple of games on lined fields this year and god do I want that to go away badly.

Wet ball & slippery turf. Have Ali and Dero unload some long range shots early to mess with their keeper's mind.

Good luck boys!

Looks like RBA will offer the first truly covered stadium. Do the rest of you prefer this design of footy ground, or are more of us partial to open grounds like BMO Field and Toyota Park?

Personally I like the covered grounds. They just look so much more complete and modern. I'm not sure what effect they have on the experience, but they are an impressive looking place to play. RBA will definitely add more credibility to MLS (not that it really needs it).

Check out the animated video tour of Red Bull Arena. Best stadium porn around.;)

Needless to say the game day experience will be something else next season.

Covered grounds are SUPER LOUD if you have rabid fans! The roof allows the noise to echo and reverberate thoughout the stadium. When I went down to Portland earleir this year, the roof at PGE Park made about 1000 Timbers Army sound like 10,000.

Yeah. So many seats, so few fans.

RBNY really need to do something with that team or the crowds will disappear after the initial stadium curiosity wears off.

Being in New Jersey hurts, but the fact that the stadium is on both the subway line and (long distance) train line will help. Nothing was worse than going to Giants stadium and having to deal with Saturday night tunnel traffic on the way home.

I definitely like that its a covered ground. New York weather is awful so that'll help protect the fans against the rain and sun.

Wow...Kannji scores for Red Bull in the 3rd minute. Nice goal, but pourous defending.

I was impressed that the TFC defense could keep up with him. I remember him from USL and he is one fast player. Get it back now and then get the lead.
