Tuscan
...who would you choose? I would choose Cummings. MLS is turning into a league based mostly on speed. Cummings is lightning quick and skilled/tricky on the ball. He has the great ability of making something from nothing due to his speed and his ability to turn defenders (into monkeys). Coupled with DeRo's explosiveness, Cummings would give TFC Chad Barrett speed with a knack for actually scoring goals. I think Cummings and OBW would compliment each other, and he could also play with Gerba using Gerba as a feeder and a poacher.
tmcmurph
If I had to I'd go with Montero. Young and comparable to Dero. But to be honest their problem isn't on offence. They have sufficient firepower. Their problem is defence. Seriously look at the stats from this year Montero---------75 shots, 27 on goal, 12 goals + 6 assists Dero--------------74 shots, 34 on goal, 11 goals + 5 assists Casey------------68 shots, 28 on goal, 15 goals + 1 assist Schelotto-------44 shots, 22 on goal, 12 goals + 3 assists Cunningham--57 shots, 33 on goal, 16 goals + 7 assists Donovan--------53 shots, 27 on goal, 11 goals + 6 assists The MLS teams all have 1 good scorer or sometimes 2 with 8-10 goals but by and large most teams get by with 1 player doing 1/4 or 1/3 of their scoring. So with Dero, Gerba, White, Barrett working a dual forward rotation in a 4-4-2 you have lots of firepower. 2 of those on the list are former TFC. You need better service from the wings but most importantly you have a 1.49 goals against average. With 35 goals for and 40 against you need better defenders. Seattle: 32 goals for and 26 against. Chivas: 25 goals for and 26 against. RSL: 38 goals for and 34 against. TFC also has 126 shots on goal and has given up 146. You make your goalie work too hard. Build from the back out and forget this offence mindset. You have lots of good forwards and mids. You need to fix your back row!
jpg75
^ I agree, our most urgent need is finding one very good Centreback to team up with Serioux. But to answer the question, i'd go with Landon Donovan. Could you imagine our target forward (Gerba, White) being supported by DeRo and Donovan as withdrawn strikers!? Tuscan
While Donovan would be a massive threat for teams to deal with, I don't know if I'd enjoy seeing that Yank bastard up front for TFC, it just wouldn't sit right. Funny you mention the need for defenders, that was actually the next topic I was going to make.

Man, as easy as it is to hate TFC now, you would just be so much more hateable with Donovan (on the same team as Guevera no less, would you sign Walter Martinez next then so you could really be Canada's team?)!
