BearcatSA
I've never read the book but just finished watching the movie. It's amazing how the careers of these two rivals (Clough and Revie) had vastly different outcomes following Clough's sacking from Leeds.
Desigol
Saw it in Dungannon Cinema 4 Months Ago. Compelling Film. Cloughie was a Prophet; Prophets aren't accepted in their own Country.
BearcatSA
After watching the show I went on YouTube and saw the actual interview that Clough and Revie shared. Real characters! And both Sheen and Meaney did great jobs bringing them to life in the movie. I wondered why Revie failed so miserably with England? I have read stuff from the likes of Miller, Glanville, and Lacey and I get the impression that a number of key England players thought he was a nutter. Who knows, maybe many of his playing pool held deep-seated grudges against him from his Leeds days.
bingham
Picked up a bootleg copy in Little Korea on Sunday..great film..great actors..would love to read the book..have read a few of David Peace's "Ripper" era books and they are great..what a character Cloughie was..Revie's Leeds were a great side but they were also brutal and dirty..Jim Broadbent (playing Sam Longson)is surely the greatest living English actor.
