This just came in today...

Association adds new staff members

The Canadian Soccer Association is pleased to announce the hiring of two new staff members to its offices. Ms. Sandra Gage has been hired to the position of Director, Business Development while Ms. Sylvie Béliveau to the position of Long-Term Player Development Manager.

Ms. Gage is a marketing and communications specialist with over seventeen years experience in the Canadian sport system. Her previous positions include Director, Marketing and Communications for Coaching Association of Canada, Executive Director of Partnership Development with Esteem Team Association, and Director, Corporate Partnerships with Skate Canada. In her new role with the Canadian Soccer Association, she will be responsible for the overall direction of marketing, sponsorship and communications activities within the organization.

Ms. Béliveau is a long-time soccer coach and member of numerous technical committees. She was of course Canada's coach at the FIFA Women's World Cup Sweden 1995, Canada's first entry at a FIFA Women's World Cup. She serves as a member of the FIFA Technical and Development Committee and is an honoured member of Canada's Soccer Hall of Fame. In her new role with the Canadian Soccer Association, she will be responsible for implementing the Association's Wellness to World Cup long-term player development program.

^ So what is Stephen Hart responsible for?

It looks like a compromise, there's alot of partipaction fluff thrown into what is supposed to be a legit. development blueprint.

There was a document on the FAI website that was very detailed, but i can't find it now. Here's what the FAI has up:

Virtually the same stuff on the CSA side. The technical doc had a whole bunch of details, it was very long and went into the specific skills/competencies players should be working on at what age etc.

From my understanding, the next phase of Wellness to World Cup will be more detailed and more specific.

I just dont know when that next document is going to be released.
