spiral
I was the one who first broke the news the roof was in trouble. Not looking for credit. Just treat everyone on this board with respect
Johnnie Monster
How about you respect the Whitecaps by actually attending a game?

Vancouversoccerman
His respect for this message board has spiralled since day one. He has posted false rumours, cross-posted, used multiple identities many times.
spiral
And if the roof is cancelled, then I still spread a false rumour?
Richard
Until there is an official statement the only fact out there is that the retractable roof project has been delayed. EVERYTHING else, including all columnists' scribbles and pundit musings on TV and radio is mere speculatiuon - not news. Spiral you are attempting to whip up an unwarranted frenzy with all your speculation and hanging on every word from the media who are no better informed than anyone else at this stage. So why don't you STFU at least until there are more facts in the public domain.
spiral
Oh come on! How many articles and tv reports does it take to convince you that where there's smoke there's fire. There's already half a dozen print articles out there the roof is on thin ice. If Minister Kevin Krueger says it during a press scrum, that's not in the public domain? Then mabey Krueger should STFU if he has nothing official to say, instead of leaking info like a siv

Richard
If a minister hiccups during a media scrum the talkshow pundits on commercial radio can hang five two hour phone-in shows around it and the print columnists can speculate about what it means till the cows come home, filling many column inches. Doesn't change the FACT that all the minister did was hiccup. Time to get real.
Johnnie Monster
High fives to Richard... never thought I'd live to see the day when *he* told someone to STFU! Brilliant. Someone BAN THE TROLL ALREADY. Fact #1: He has never attended a soccer match. Fact #2: He has never commented on anything occurring in the course of a match. Fact #3: He has been banned from numerous boards for spouting the same stadium nonsense over and over under multiple usernames, just as he does here. He contributes nothing to this forum. Why are we allowing him to continue insulting our intelligence? Toast him already, FFS.

Richard
Johnnie Monster - after 15 years in the military I am more than capable of swearing and cursing with the best of them, I just choose not to most of the time.
Calgary Boomer
There is but 1 FACT in this story. The tendering for the roof job has been extended by 30 days. (the media is calling it a "Delay". THAT is the only fact. Every single media report has speculated and cited "sources". Anyone can do that...and once one outlet does it, the others follow suit. It's no coincidence that after Global ran the story, their Canwest Print affiliate ran the same story.
Richard
It is not unusual for a project of such magnitude to have the bid submission deadline extended. All it typically takes is a formal request from at least three major bidders for more time and they get it. Bidding on such a project is no trivial matter.
