VPjr
18 year old defender Gino Mauro played the full 45 minutes of the 2nd half for AS PRO BELVEDERE VERCELLI (Serie C2) in their Coppa Italia match today. Unfortunately Pro Belvedere fell 1-0 to Valenzana Calcio (also of Serie C2)

VPjr
^ I just realized that Gino is actually listed as a First Team player for his club. I thought he was with the youth team and was called up for this game. http://www.asprobelvedere.it/modules_cms/ContPage.php?cp=M0200000000 Good for him...I would expect that he will be in the mix for the next U20's (he is a 1991 player so he'll be one of the older players in 2011). powerof11
Almost a year ago he suffered a skull fracture from an elbow to the head against Sheffield Wednesday that nearly ended his career. In coming weeks, look to see Borussia Monchengladbach striker Rob Friend also return from a lengthy injury to his heel and begin contributing to his already impressive tally for the Bundesliga club. BrennanFan
FC Kobenhavn v. APOEL is 0-0 at Halftime. FCK better score as this is their home leg. Would be a shame for Atiba to miss out on the Champs league again. Hutch seems to be playing on the right wing today. 1-0 FCK final.

Nice to see Hume start. ON a more positive note, it's great to have the 'N-A English League Updates' rolling again, it's been too long without the footy. Thanks for those thorough and speedy updates on match-days. I'm half-convinced you are some form of computerized web feed that instantaneously feeds the data into this forum. Kudos! Toronto MB
I'm guessing that David must be ill, or was a last minute scratch due to injury. It simply doesn't add up that a team so short on healthy defenders would leave one of their most highly-touted summer signings out for the home debut. Regardles, 1-0 Burnley at FT! Hoorah! Though David may have a tough time fighting his way back into squad if they continue to play like that.

COPPA ITALIA: GRANDE PRESTAZIONE DELLA NEOPROMOSSA PIEMONTESE La Pro Belvedere pareggia a Monza Discepoli soddisfatto: «Prova impeccabile della difesa». In tribuna il milanista Seedorf MONZA-PRO BELVEDERE 0-0 PRO BELVEDERE VERCELLI (44-2): Dan; Calvani, Candi, Firrarello, Coletto; Mauro, Pasqui (28’ st Rognone), Cagliano, Saviolo (38’ st Porcelli); Celeste (1’ st Lorenzini), Caredda.
