Peters played CM switching from holding to attacking and played really well. He distributed the ball well kept possession and had two very good chances at net the last the keeper makes an incredible save to deny him.

One of the better players on Ipswich squad today in my unbiased opinion

Jakovic played 68 minutes as DC United lost 3-0 to Real Madrid. A slightly more respectable scoreline than the TFC one as all three Real goals weren't scored until mid-way through the 2nd half. Dejan was taken out with the score 2-0, though most of the DC starters were taken off throughout the 2nd half, not just him.

Josh Simpson started and went 84 minutes for Manisaspor in a 0-0 home draw.

Jakovic was by far the best player on the DC backline. Goff agrees and gave him the highest rating for a DC field player:

Wicks 7; Jakovic 6, Janicki 4, Burch 4; Pontius 6, Olsen 5, Wallace 5, Gomez 5, Fred 6; Moreno 5, Emilio 4. Subs: Jacobson 4, Simms 5, Szetela 5, Kocic 5, McTavish 5, John 5, Allen 5, DiRaimondo 5.

I caught the game on Setanta also. It was nice to see him in the starting 11 to begin the year. I wasn't expecting that. In the lineup graphic on TV, it showed Peters as one of the 2 central attacking mids in 4-1-4-1 formation. After Ipswich went down a goal, it seemed as though Roy Keane switched things up and Peters was moved wide left.

I thought he did really well when he had the ball, but when it isn't at his feet, he doesn't seem to be the smartest player.

I saw the start of the second half and Peters got 3 pretty good chance. One was a nice volley from 20 yards that was goal bound but deflected at the last second. He was then save on a partial breakaway and on the resulting corner had a tough volley flying over the net.

For the 10 min I saw he was pretty good and unlucky not to get a goal.

Let's hope he can get more PT this year!

you gotta be doing something right for Roy Keane to say he wants you to start the first game of the season. :)

now if only Ipswich or another club would go out and bring in Simeon now, before the end of the month.... we would be looking at a very exciting season for us in the Championship.

I could be wrong, but I think Burnley has lost every preseason friendly! Not the best start for a newly promoted side.

I think you're right and, what's worse, they played a lot of lower-tier sides.

As pointed out by tDob on the U-Sector forum, Jordan Santiago was on the bench as the backup keeper for Cardiff City today against Dagenham & Redbridge.

He's what, an U-18 player? That's a nice and surprising development, hope he continues to progress, especially with all our keeper depth troubles.
