Impact to MLS tomorrow???

Basically saying that the fee of 35 000 000 has already been agreed to between Saputo and the MLS, but that the talks about how the stadium enlargement from 13000 to 21000 seats is going to be financed has not progressed enough to make an announcement.

Guest Jeffery S.

So if Garber says not 2011 and mentions the stadium specifically, and a lot of others are pushing for Montreal to create rivalries (Nash himself at the TFC-RMadrid game), what are the things that have to be done?

Does Impact have to re-apply for a franchise?

Do they have to do a new proposal?

Is this for the next few months, is a review period open now in MLS for new franchises? Or will it be 2010 for 2012?

Money, what is the deal?

Stadium, what has to be done, how much will it cost, and what is the timeline?

Anything else?

As far as I know the current stumbling block is the government stadium funding which has not yet been approved. I am pretty confident they will get it but the government has to follow certain procedures and they usually take time. As for Garber's comments, I don't think one should ever believe what he says too much. He often makes strategic comments directed at certain parties such as slow moving governments. If the stadium funding is in place and it can be built in time and Saputo has the expansion money I think we will be there in 2011.

They have more staff than that, at least on the office side.

Peter Nowak is the coach. Josh Gros is one of his assistants. This info all what I can remember off the top of my head, meaning that there is probably some that I'm missing.

I wish all the dreamers would stop believing this 2011 nonsense. It's not going to happen...not with Government Funding, not with one 35 million dollar cheque, not with a finished stadium. They'll be in for 2012 earliest.

I wish you would stop making the same post for the 200th time. Yes Calgary Boomer everyone on the Voyageurs knows that you think it is completely impossible for the Impact to be in MLS for 2011 thus there is no purpose in posting it for a 201st time.

Sadly, idiots like you need to be told things 200 times before it sinks in.
