Sam
A contact at the CSA told me that there are no home friendlies planned and they are not in talks with anyone else for home friendlies. At any level.
redhat
Guys, planning for the Gold Cup means the CSA had to assure the clubs that their players would be back at a reasonable schedule. Many are in pre-season, so it's hard to release them without pissing the clubs off. You really want to ask Toronto FC to release their players during any playoff run? Saviola7
Crazy. They should definitely get something for the September date. Clubs have to release their players for a week, so it shouldn't be asking too much to release them for a single match. Get a europe friendly, call up all of the euro-based players who didn't get a good look at the Gold Cup: Begovic Edgar Cann Issey Nakajima-Farran Paris Nakajima-Farran Ornoch Hume Ledgerwood Friend Occean Steven Vitoria To make up the numbers: Wagenaar Klukowski Pozniak Saiko Hastings Simpson Jackson Heck, invite the Imhof and Hoilett brothers too (if they accept, invite the de Guzman brothers as well - imagine having 4 sets of brothers on one team!) Yes those are FIFA dates. But they are also dates on the World Cup Qualifying schedule. Given that most regions have a normal qualifying process ( one that doesn't eliminate you in the first four to six week ), Most everyone will be involved in WCQ. Good luck trying to find an opponent on those days.

Toronto MB
I think this is all fantasy, but if we are going to play on Sep 5th or 9th - make it a Euro-based game and squad. ------Friend---------------- ---------------Jackson------ Simpson----------------Hutch -----de Guzman--Bernier----- Kluka-Edgar--McKenna-Stalteri ----------Lars-------------- Plus a whole host of good subs. Obinna
I wonder how much it would cost the CSA to put off a friendly in the UK? We could perhaps play Wales or even Jamacia considering all their UK based players. Another alternative could be a friendly in Germany. This would probably be even better. Friend, Stalteri, Lars, McKenna, Ledgerwood already in the country with Hutch, Bernier, Issey, Paris, Cann and Ornoch nearby in Denmark, plus De Jong and Kulkowski close in Holland and Belgium. That is 13 right there. I can't think of a suitable opponent that would want to play in Germany from that list however...
Dare431
Fiji and Burkina Faso both at home? What ever happened to the days that we would have a friendly on labour day before school started. That was only a few years ago, no?
BrennanFan
Jamaica's next generation gain valuable experience playing Ecuador today. Canada does nothing. Thanks a lot CSA!

Jonny, it wouldn't surprise me if there are no friendlies scheduled until next spring in an effort to maximize the FIFA ranking points we picked up against Cyprus and at the Gold Cup. jonny63
October 10 and 14 is difficult for a friendly in Europe because almost all European National teams play World Cup qualifiers, but I expect one or two friendlies in Europe on November 14 and/or 18.
