jpg75
Two great national team careers have come to an end. The VfL players Vahid Hashemian and Daniel Imhof have announced their resignations from their respective national teams. Both resign due to sporting considerations. http://www.vfl-bochum.de/webcache/Aktuelles_meldung_6640_3_en.htm Daniel Imhof has made 35 appearances for the Canadian national team. “Unfortunately, we will not take part in the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. In 2014 I will have reached the age of 36. Therefore, I don’t think this makes sense. In addition to that, I will have more time for my family.” Imhof’s second child will be born in September. However, the 31-year-old leaves himself a loophole: “If they should need me again, I will be willing to talk.”
Lord Bob
As long as we still have Dominic Imhof, we'll be okay.
nolando
Classy, responsible decision. Leaves room for the young generation and leaves Canada an out in case they are desperate.
Toronto MB
I guess this makes sense for Daniel. Too bad he couldn't have played a bigger part in recent years. Thank for the service Daniel.
footballfreak
Very classy move by Imhof. Step aside for the younger players to step in but leave the door open should we need him. I wish him luck.

Vancouver Fan
Loved what Imhof brought to the team. He competed hard every time he was called. I hope we see him again. Good luck to him with the rest of his career.

Gian-Luca
Can't ask for much more than what he said. Imhof was always a class player and guy both on and off the field.
