tmcmurph
They didn't play but everyone but Chicago lost to their western opponents. They 2 east teams that played each other (DC/Col) had a draw. So nobody is pulling away on TFC. Now TFC needs to put some wins up and playoff bound they will be. If Canada goes all the way Ali Gerba will be available in August. Just in time for the stretch run. I'm looking forward to seeing him play for TFC.
jpg75
It was a good weekend, but a key point to remember is that if the Western teams beat the Eastern teams too much then we could see a crossover of the 5th place team from the West taking our 4th spot here in the East. I prefer to see a lot of draws, keeps the overall points down for all of our opponents!
rdroze
Yep. And actually only the top two from each Conference are guaranteed to qualify this year. So TFC could conceivably finish 3rd in the East but still out of the playoffs.
tmcmurph
^Oh yea this is the change over year. I forgot about that. As it stands today they would still make it. Top 2 in each conf plus number 5-8 overall. That is still very doable by TFC. Finish in the top 8 overall and you are in. I see your point about wanting lots of draws while TFC gets some 3 point games.
