Lots of weird calls though - the "offside" at about the 9min mark which clearly wasn't... and the goal kick which was clearly a corner kick. Sam Posted July 4, 2009 Share Posted July 4, 2009 Its the same players, and we can all agree that the players just aren't good enough to take us to the world cup, but what has changed is the tactics, and it looks a lot better. The 4-1-4-1 with De Guzman as the central defensive midfielder has been effective. Canada's keeping possession of the ball, and they are still missing that little bit of flair or creativity in the final third, but the slow build up is working well. And the defending is much improved. They aren't just sticking a foot in, they're giving them up till the final third, and defending well from inside it without any silly tackles. Jamaica can be dangerous on the counter, 3 yellows might be concerning for them as they play quite physical! I don't thonk Bernier is having a great game, he should be more of a holding mid IMO!
