Lordsnooty
Here are today's odds provided by William Hill of London. A Grenada/Nicaragua final would pay nicely. Anyone? Gold Cup Winner (Top) Selection Price Mexico 2.75 United States 3.00 Costa Rica 7.00 Honduras 8.00 Jamaica 11.00 Panama 21.00 El Salvador 26.00 Canada 41.00 Haiti 101.00 Guadeloupe 101.00 Grenada 201.00 Nicaragua 251.
Gian-Luca
Looks like we are considered the clear underdogn in our group by Mr. Hill.
Lurker
$10 pays $410. Not a bad little chunk of change.
nolando
...and way back of the likes of El Salvador and Panama, I see. If we don't go all the way ("dare to dream") then I would at least like to see a new winner.
Lordsnooty
Looking back at the most recent FIFA rankings within CONCACAF: World CONCACAF Country Points RkChg 12 1 USA 983 +2 30 2 Costa Rica 789 +11 33 3 Mexico 777 -7 39 4 Honduras 753 -4 65 5 Jamaica 519 +11 69 6 Panama 478 -8 72 7 Trinidad and Tobago 461 0 85 8 Cuba 383 +14 88 9 Grenada 379 +14 90 10 El Salvador 376 +10 92 11 Canada 360 -9 ....it would seem that Will Hill are almost entirely relying on this table to set its odds. Canada at 41 to 1 seems generous, but I still wouldn't bet it.

Panama didn't even make the third round of qualifying! Oh well it may end up being easy money for someone

CanadianSoccerFan
Some of the Gold Cup odds moved a lot since yesterday. Guadeloupe over Panama paid 6-1 yesterday in some places and has come down to 4. Not sure the oddsmakers realized Guadeloupe has a squad of quality european pros. Last Gold Cup the oddsmakers didn't even realize that Trinidad's players were on strike so stranger things have happened.
Guest Can. in UK
I just got 48-1 on Betfair. I don't think they'll win but it's worth a punt. In my mind, they should be more like 15-1.
jayhoo62
Fox Sports also does not have much confidence in Canada: http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/9759684/Stage-set-for-an-exciting-Gold-Cup-tournament Oh well, Fox Sports doesn't know too much about Football. Doesn't sound like this guy even knows what he's talking about... El Salvador (4+ points) — The surprise of CONCACAF qualifying will probably come out on the losing end of the dead heat for second. They have handily defeated both Jamaica (without Fuller) and Canada in qualifying, and they will give Costa Rica a run for its money.
Cyrus
Given that so much of our serious competition is still distracted by the hex, there is no way that we should be that much of a longshot. I would call us at a 12-1. But isn't that the proper way to gamble on sports? Pick an obscure subject where you can be confident that you are as knowledgeable or more than the handicapper. Cuts into the house's advantage. As opposed to something, like betting on the NFL, that has more statistical simulations and models than space travel. amacpher
Canada is 5.10 to win their group. Guadeloupe 44.00 to win theirs. Unfortunately there are no odds on Guadeloupe to finish second in their group. That might've been a good play. I think I'll put down $5 for Canada to win outright. Not much to lose. amacpher
This is looking like a good bet at the moment. Glad I placed my bet earlier today (though I only put down $5). Tomorrow those odds are probably gonna drop to about 15/1.

amacpher
Canada's odds have dropped to 10-1. They are fourth favorites behind USA, Mexico and Costa Rica.
amacpher
Pretty good odds for Jamaica tonight. They're actually slight underdogs against El Salvador! Canada are big underdogs against Costa Rica. The only problem with that bet is that I think there's a good chance for a draw.
jpg75
Costa Rica 2.00 Draw 3.30 Canada 3.75 Amacpher, if you're looking for a good bet try the "Draw No Bet". Canada is paying 2.62. Or the Asian Handicap has Canada at 1.775 for +0.5 which means you win if it ends in a draw.
An Observer
as amacpher says, canadian odds are now 10-1. Glad that I got my bet in when it was 34-1 (too bad I didn't get in when it was 48-1 on betfair)
