MTL_4_LIFE
The Montreal Impact and the Haitian National Team tied 0-0, Wednesday, in front of 8,047 spectators at Saputo Stadium, in its second of six international games presented this summer in Montreal. “We played a good game tonight and we need to continue to forge ahead,” declared Impact head coach Marc Dos Santos. “We played a very good game defensively. Everyone did well tonight and we played with intensity. We respected the public today with a very good performance. This game was a good simulation of our Champions League games.” “It is the first time in my life that I play in front of such an electrifying crowd,” noted Haiti native defense Elkana Mayard, who played the full 90 minutes for the Impact. "It was very special playing tonight." Haitian native Impact players Félix Brillant and Pierre-Rudolph Mayard also played in the second half. Goalkeeper Srdjan Djekanovic played the entire game and registered the shutout after facing 9 shots. Marc Dos Santos fielded a total of 21 players in this game. Defender Alex Surprenant played his first game this year with the Impact, while captain Mauro Biello and forward Pa Amadou Gai were on the starting lineup for the first time this year. The two midfielders Ciaran O’Brien and Tyler Rosenlund currently trying out with the Impact, defender Hicham Aaboubou, as well as forward Reda Agourram, who was called back from the Troi-Rivières Attak, all entered the game in the second half. The Haitian National Selection, currently ranked 124th in the FIFA world ranking, will compete in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which starts Friday, in the United States. The Montreal Impact will play its next international game against the Syrian National Team next Wednesday at Saputo Stadium (7:30 pm). The Impact will play its next regular season game Sunday against the Charleston Battery, at 3:30 pm (Radio-Canada, CKAC Sports, THE TEAM 990, USLlive.com). Richard
quote:Originally posted by JFC There were many more outside the stadium as the ticket admistration was horrible That's a surprise, the Impact don't usually seem to have a ticketing problem and manage to fill SS in time for USL-1 games. Mr.Impact
It's a question of perception, just like asking if 8000 for an international friendly is a good crowd. Keep in mind that 21 players were used for the Impact in this game.

Keegan
Only 8000 for Haiti in Montreal against the Impact? I guess if a Haiti team preparing for the Gold Cup can't beat a Montreal Impact B team in a friendly when there A team isn't even good then we can see why they didn't even qualify for the Gold Cup. Haiti has really dropped off ever since we spanked them in the Gold Cup going into that tournament they really though they had turned it around there were calls for a World Cup journey coming soon after they beat T and T and won the Caribbean cup. Gaucho
How did Rosenlund play? I am also vaguely interested in Ciaran O'Brien as they both played at UCSB. Factoid: After Rosenlund turned pro after his junior year at UCSB, O'Brien transferred from the University of San Diego to fill the gap left by Rosenlund. Mr.Impact
Factoid 2: O'Brien is the son of Former Montreal Manic Fran O'Brien, and brother of Leighton O'Brien of Seattle Sounders Fame.
