tovan
Its too bad Saputo stadium only seats 13000 or whatever it is... the Impact are showing that they will outgrow their stadium soon. Its a shame that the Trophee des Champions game has to be played indoors at Olympic on the turf. It would be nice to see regular French League matches (exhibition, cup games, or whatever) played regularly in Montreal. It would do wonders for growing the game. Too bad there isn't a suitable facility for such games... outdoor, grass, seating 25-30k..
Mr.Impact
Another proof that Montreal Impact FC is not your run of the mill USL-1 Orginization. Interesting enough, the date should coincide with The provincial Government's announcement as to weather they will be pumping in $25 mil, for the clubs; MLS ambition. I hear they are not going to go through with the match because the Girondin's players would prefer to be in Toronto to watch Real Madrid that weekend. ottawaguy2009
crap. i already bought tickets for the Trophee match. I would have preferred to see Bordeaux vs. Impact. oh well. ^^^^are you sure that they are keeping turf for that game? it will be the end of July when they host the match. When the big O hosted the Olympics did they not have grass? can't they have grass for this game given the time of year? i realize that it's all concrete now in there. is that permanent? how can they expect these teams to play such an important match on turf? I remember reading somewhere that the Guingamp coach was happy to be playing on turf. He wanted to see for himself how the surface was.
ottawaguy2009
What's the turf like in there anyways? Good, bad, mediocre? Better than BMO? I still think it's disgraceful. Was there not originally grass in there?
