BigBird
In Italy Casale defeated Sarzanese yesterday by a result of 4-2. Casale"s last two goals scored by Uccello and the first goals by Zenga, gave them another opportuntity. The result sending Sarzanese home for the season in a knock game. The next round will be against Spezia as the won their game 2-1 against Albese. The game will be played on Sunday. The winner will continue the loser will go home. Olbia's Masciantonio play tommorrow against Alesandria and too I believe a knock out. I will update the progress of both teams.
BigBird
Follow up in Italy Olbia managed a 1-0 win over Alessandria. Masciantonio was on the bench did not get in the match. They will have another match in the coming week and with an away goal they are favourite to move on to the next round. It looks good for them let hope they can do it. In Spezia, Casale managed a Draw 1-1 result after 2 over time periods. There was no penalty kicks in this game according to the rules. The Tie goes to the home team, therefore sending Casale home and their end of their season. Uccello did not score any, today but did get a yellow early in the game. This pretty well end my reports from Italy from little bird with the exception of Masciantonio games in the next week or so which i will keep you informed as to what is happening to our players in Italy. SouthAfricaOrBust
The tie goes to teh home team? What an assinine way to end a season.. Was this a promotion playoff? Anyways, congrats to your son, I thouroughly enjoy following your reports!
JamboAl
Looks like Hutchinson got the equalizer for Kobenhavn in the 87th min at home to Randers (3-3). Game didn't mean much as they had already won the Danish league but nice fightback after being 1-3 down.

Ya not good, its based on last year position of level of play since Spezia was relegated from Serie B last year to Serie D this year, Spezia advances in a tie home or not it does not matter. SUCKS oh well! Thanks and I will look forward to next year to report the same of all players in Italy, but most of we are looking forward to having him back soon and spend some real quality time as a family. youllneverwalkalone
^From the FCK web site it looks like he had 10 goals in 26 matches in all competitions. Not too shabby. Let the transfer speculation begin!

Grizzly
Pretty impressive, he is basically voted the 2nd best player in the league. 4 coaches had him as their first choice.

Ceres
quote:Originally posted by leafdolfan Djemba-Djemba = proof Sir Alex is indeed human Djemba-Djemba is a very good player, but he could not handle all the money he got when he signed with Man Utd.... He totally lost focus and his stay in England became one crazy shopping spree, so big that he was in huge debt when he finally left the country... When he was picked up by Odense, he had to sign an agreement that the club to some extend were to help him by keeping an eye on his personal finances, so that he would not get in the same kind of trouble... . jpg75
On Sunday the 1st leg of Dutch playoff between Roda and Cambuur finished 1-1 in Kerkrade. Marcel De Jong played 86 minutes at Left mid and setup the goal by Cisse in the 30th minute with a beautiful cross-field through ball. Highlight of the goal can be seen in the top-right corner of the Roda frontpage: http://www.rodajc.nl/default.asp Roda are currently losing 1-0 at HT in the second leg at Cambuur. edit: Roda came from behind to draw the match 1-1 and send the playoff into ET. Both teams score in ET, Roda first and then Cambuur save themselves 2 minutes from time. double edit: Roda win the playoff series on PK's 3-1 and stay in the Eredivisie next year, woohoo!! Marcel started and was subbed out in the 82nd before Roda notched the equalizer: http://www.rodajc.nl/nieuws/?newsID=1644

jpg75
quote:Originally posted by lowlander Any idea why Radz would not have started that game? This would seem to indicate that he has had an Achilles problem recently: http://www.lierse.be/en/news/team-news-lierse-roeselare "Kevin Janssens (ill) and Tomasz Radzinski (achilles) are fit, and are in the squad." Hopefully he starts since this game is must-win. If Roeselare win, it eliminates Lierse from promotion. edit: Lierse will be back in the 2nd Division next year as they lost 1-3 to Roeselare.
