Former North York player (Zezel) dead

I wasn't sure where to put this, since North York are no longer in existence, but maybe there are some former North York supporters who are now TFC supporters.

Although known more nationally for being a Toronto Maple Leaf, Peter Zezel also played for one season with North York as well as a couple of friendlies with the Blizzard when they were in the NASL.

Peter Zezel died today of a rare blood disease at the age of 44. Having seen interviews with him about soccer, he was really enthusiastic about TFC and a proud Canadian.

Did he? I wouldn't be surprised. He was quite a good player and only chose hockey late in life.

Thank you for responding. This post looked rather lonely and sad.

RIP Peter

I think there are about five or six other threads with this information, which may have contributed to the loneliness of this particular one.

Peter was in the reserves as an amateur IIRC.
