One last victory (if you give them la liga, which is all but finished) away from the treble. A true victory for attacking soccer! Kudos as well for Athletico coming out and giving it hard for the whole game, and actually controlling the first half with more intensity and 50% possession against Barcá. They are in for a domestic double (or the 1.5 "double"!) as well as the Champs League...not to mention the English Super Cup, and the World Club Cup. Agreed. Winning the Champions League and domestic championship is not that unusual. I don't see why Man United would stand-out from everybody else in a historical sense. Notice I didn't say the won the treble this year though - if they win the Champs League. In fact I said it was a domestic 1.5 as opposed to a domestic double. Most succesful season of all-time? Purely looking at trophies - 5 - please share with me other clubs who have won more in a season. They are currently at 3, will get #4 in the league over the next 2 games, and potentially #5 v. Barca. We're responding to your claim of "Potentially the most successful season of all-time". And like I said, lots of teams have won the league and Champions League the same season. And by the way, the Intercontinental was last year and it corresponds to the year it is played, of course, as it involved the 2008 continental championship winners. Meaning Barça really has a legitimate chance at 5 in 2009, but let's take it step by step. Only legit winners in Europe are Celtic in 67, Ajax in 72, PSV in 88, and Man Utd in 99. I am amazed to hear people who call themselves football fans can come out and admit they haven't watched Barça this year. Best club football I have seen in over a decade, at least since November.
