That part of his wikipedia page has been edited back and forth a few times. Anybody want to clear this up?
Keegan
Trafford is a Canuck. He was raised here
bettermirror
quote:Originally posted by jpg75 ^ Jakovic was born in 1985. Did you really just "correct" the post above saying Jakovic is an '85 suggesting that the post was saying he was born in '90!?

The first poster said the players in bold were born in 1986 or later...so the correction is justify
masster
quote:Originally posted by Keegan Trafford is a Canuck. He was raised here That is correct. He was born in the US but grew up in North Van. I'm not sure when he moved here but I know he went to high school here. He would be just like Gbeke I guess.
MM2
The Whitecaps site shows Trafford as dual Canadian/American citizenship. Changes made to the first post.

He is a 1985, so why then would Jakovic be highlighted? 86 or later is referring to players born in or AFTER 1986 does it not? I just realized, it doesn't matter! Sorry, don't worry about it. THANKS. Pretty sad when the Impact fields so few Canadians.[V]
Keegan
http://nl.soccerway.com/players/mason-trafford/77104/ For what its worth he is listed as Canadian on that dutch site and also in a story I read about him from the whitecaps site they didn't even mention how he was born in the states just that he was from vancouver. So he is a full time Canadian resident and has been so for at least 8 years that we know possibly more, I could be mistaken but I thought he moved here at a really young age. I never really knew his story about playing university and then walking onto the caps that is cool. Too bad, we could have used him for the Olympic qualifiers
Alberto7
MTL Impact vs Miami friday April 24 Only 5 Canadians used(out of a total of 15 players used): Braz 90 Pizzolitto 90 Placentino 30 Grande 74 Biello 16 Once again, very sad. BTW, I am not counting Sebrango as a Canadian.
bettermirror
I am actually kind of wondering why this is a thread on the National Team forum...maybe worth discussing the separate players on the USL and MLS threads?? Even then....
MM2
I debated where to put it and since I saw this thread as a look at where Canadian talent is getting the opportunity to play pro in NA this seemed to be the logical place. If I put it in the MLS/USL forum I would be more liberal in the definition for including Canadians such as Sebrango (Canadian but not eligible to play for Canada)
bettermirror
I guess my point is....why is this thread even being conducted when considering there are already TFC, Caps, and Impact threads in which these players' contributions are discussed in detail. Anyway, thanks for shedding some light!

Actually, because TFC/Caps/Impact are discussed so much, I'm more interested in hearing about the Canadians on the other teams like Jakovic and Johnson and Hemming. These guys get missed in the Canadians Abroad thread. That's why I appreciated MM2 putting this together.
