BringBackTheBlizzard
^Hunt Sports Group are not famed for their willingness to spend money on marketing etc and the stadium location is a bit like TFC playing in Ajax.
Grizzly
Moor scores for Dallas to make it 1-0. Toronto has missed 3 absolutely easy goal scoring opportunities the last one from point blank in front of the net with the keeper out of the play and they hit a defender with the shot. canucklefan
Barret AGAIN in the starting XI, I'm starting to hate this guy, how many chance did he miss already?
Grizzly
Cooper scores on a great shot after a horrible give away by DeRo. 2-0.
Grizzly
TFC comes back and Serioux scores a goal that barely gets over the line after FCD left Robinson uncovered for a corner. Serioux seems to be the best player TFC has.
jpg75
Serioux pulls one back for the good guys right before half-time.

DarnCherry
Whats with the bouncy house behind the one goal? If a club feels that their product cannot hold the kiddies attention I can understand they might feel the need for one. But at least keep it out of the way of camera view, it looks bush league. BringBackTheBlizzard
quote:Originally posted by canucklefan Barret AGAIN in the starting XI, I'm starting to hate this guy, how many chance did he miss already? His left foot is just for standing on and that makes him easy to defend against. I can see him being the number three striker in an MLS context but over 200k against the cap and a starting role is a misallocation of resources. Loud Mouth Soup
Would once again like to congratulate both the club and Rogers for screwing up their marketing. "Free Preview on GOLTV"? Uhhh, no. No, it isn't. Heck, my TV menu has "Free Preview..." in the info bar, but my screen says I'm not a subscriber. Way to go, douchenozzles.
BringBackTheBlizzard
quote:Originally posted by jpg75 Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to build the stadium in Frisco? The counterargument is that Mexican-Americans seem to be able to make the trip OK for Interliga games but the thinking on SSS locations has definitely shifted back to more urban locations with good public transport links. loyola
Frei is good, really good. Can someone find him a hot girlfriend in Toronto so he'll stay 3 yrs and get his canadian citizenship just in time to start for us in 2012??? Poor first half for TFC, the 2 goals they gave up should've never happened. Badly defended by Carl Robinson on the first and a bad giveaway from DeRo on the second. I,m not impress with our 4 canadians at the moment except maybe for Serioux who can make the odd good defensive play (but he's still a disaster waiting to happen IMO). Lord Bob
Chad Barrett just scored! Quick, grab your gun and shoot down the flying pigs!
BringBackTheBlizzard
Lots of time and on his right foot = goal. Hopefully that boosts his confidence a bit.
Grizzly
Wow Barrett actually scores and against the run of play. 2-2.
Lord Bob
Correct call for a handball off Wynne in the area and Cooper converts it. But wow, what a painful way to go down.
BringBackTheBlizzard
Wonder if the ref ever played the game. That could easily have been called as a ball to hand rather than a hand to ball.
Grizzly
TFC plays well after scoring and FCD does very little but then a penalty to Marvell Wynne for handball in the box. It was ball to hand but when you have your arms out like that it will always get called. Cooper scores on the penalty. Cooper then missed a sitter to put the game away. 3-2. Lord Bob
With Wynne's arms way out like that, I'm more than willing to give the referee the benefit of the doubt.
BringBackTheBlizzard
Many refs take the cop out approach of giving the pen if the defensive team gains a clear advantage but it is supposed to revolve around the question of intent and Wynne had his arm out to keep his balance. Anyhoo, another game passes that could have been won so you have to question whether the coach is getting the best out of the players at his disposal. Grizzly
It doesn't matter what reason Wynne had to keep his arms out like that. A defender needs to keep his arms at his side in the box. If he has them stretched out and the ball hits them it is a penalty.

Winnipeg Fury
Tough loss for TFC, they deserved better. Any idea what the attendance was in Dallas.......6000 ?
BringBackTheBlizzard
Always best to check the multimedia section on mlsnet.com for attendance. http://web.mlsnet.com/scoreboard/game.jsp?match=04192009_TORDAL 6813 was the official number. They are really struggling in that regard right now.
loyola
Correct call on the PK, harsh on Wynne but correct call. I almost thought the Dallas defender would get there before Barrett shot on his goal....
