Obinna
why would TFC want him? because he's Italian? TFC doesn't need a player they can market to Italians or any other ethnic group. They need a winning product.
prizby
because he can put the ball in the net, and frankly, our strikers have yet to do that in 3 games

Obinna
quote:Originally posted by prizby because he can put the ball in the net, and frankly, our strikers have yet to do that in 3 games agreed, but theres a learning curve and he would only be here for a couple seasons at best. For the money you would pay for him you could pick up a couple of south american strikers who aren't 150 years old.

Once White is healthy and JC starts to use DeRo in more of a central supporting striker spot (consitently) instead of on the outside. If Mo is gonna bring in anyone it should be a central defender and no excuse for anything else. Harmse and Serioux are naturally holding midfielders; however are capable of playing the central defender spot. No reason should they be paired together we need to platoon one of them particulary Serioux with a natural central defender.
prizby
I absolutely agree we need a central defender, but now we have gone 4 games of Chad Barrett being a poor hard working loss soul, not utilizing Danny D's strenghts, and frankly, I think Vitti's English (lack of) is hurting his chances as well

VPjr
^ AGREED Actually, calling Mo at putz is being too kind. He's a fraud who was forced upon TFC by Don Garber. MLSE execs know nothing about the sport so they believe in this guy. The stadium is full, beer sales are through the roof....its like a wet dream for TFC execs. I know its beating a dead horse but the quality of the product on the field is irrelevant as long as the cash keeps rolling in.

Canuck Oranje
Rumour today out of Brazil says that Vieri is close to signing with one of the four biggest Brazilian clubs. No club name was mentioned in the article. I would still consider this a rumour because this source does jump the gun at times. http://www.futebolinterior.com.br/news.php?id_news=78629 I would list the four biggest clubs in Brazil as being Flamengo, Corinthians, Sao Paulo FC, and Palmeiras. Through deductive reasoning, I suspect the most likely of these to sign Vieri would be Palmeiras or Flamengo. Flamengo needs a star striker and Palmeiras can get the cash and Vieri would be a nice fit beside Keirrison. Corinthians and Sao Paulo FC are less likely in my opinion because they already have a full compliment of quality strikers and both also have an aging striker already. Ace-o-Bastones
Ya, i'd take Chad Barret and the young Dicchio over that old Vieri any day. Are you guys serious? The only way Barret and Danny D ever see a world cup is if they get a job selling peanuts in South Africa let alone score 5 goals in the tournament. I am enjoying this site. A lot of laughs here.
