Lord Bob
I'm in for a trip to Los Angeles from Vancouver/Victoria. Looking at the map, I'm not sure 121 is the best idea - that grass area is aimed at families, right? Not sure we'd be winning many friends sitting there. 101 might be a better choice. youllneverwalkalone
I saw return flights from Van for $485 all in. Does that seem reasonable? I agree about 101.
superbrad
If you book with Westjet in the next 4 days they guarantee that if the flight price goes down before you travel they will give you a credit for the difference. 101 it is, we may end up being a small group but I suggest we go from row 1 up. I tried to see if there were any supporter sections designated and this is what I got... Sections 121, 137 and 138 are designated Galaxy supporters' sections. Fans who sit in these sections typically stand, sing, chant, and enthusiastically and loudly support the Galaxy throughout the game. Obviously CONCACAF doesn't expect any out of town support... hodgkiss
lets also count ahead to the final match of the tournament in new york! when we make it, i expect that most of us from the quebec and ontario region should be able to make it down. even though this tournament won't give us much credibility on a world stage, it would certainly be a great way to start off the new regime of soccer in canada. here's a scenario... canada wins the gold cup with hart and dasovic at the helm... will the csa still go out and get a proven coach to take over? in a way, (nothing against hart and dasovic because we have seen some good results from them in the last year or two) i'm hoping that we don't do too well just for this reason. although, it's our team man! it would be a sweet feeling - and hopefully a bunch of spots up the rankings. hectorj
Don't know if you guys have a patriotic attachment to getting ripped off by our transportation companies. I don't and usually fly from across the line. Seattle to Long Beach (July 2-4) $189 US or to LAX for $199 (same dates). I just went to Belize and saved over $2000 (family of 4) by flying out of Seattle compared to YVR.
Soro17
^ It is $268 out of Bellingham on Horizon Air. Avoiding the time, aggravation and cost of driving to and from Seattle is worth the extra $70. The bigger questions for me are: can I get a passport for my 1 month old in time; and are there infant-sized Canada jerseys available?
superbrad
^Yes and be creative.... (Canada Diapers??)
masster
I think I would be in. How much is a flight from LA to Columbus? We could meet up with the TO V's for game #2.
superbrad
^Not a bad idea....$157 one way...hitch a ride on the V bus, TO return to Van (CDN flight will cost $8000).
Lord Bob
Checking out my schedule, looks like I'm onboard for all the round robin games and the quarterfinal (hoping we get that far), assuming I don't lose my job or something. So that'll be nice.
superbrad
Hey guys I was looking at the website for the Home Depot Centre... since there will be a small group of us (I anticipate), and looking that Ticketstub indicates LA Galaxy supporter section is 121....I'm thinking we should be there. Yes its below the grass berm - however I think because its smaller, if we have a small group we will appear "larger". (I don't however think we'll fill up the section). Ticketstub warns purchasers in this section that the fans are rowdy.... Come on Toronto V's....care to march down Ventura Blvd?
Lord Bob
Would we even be able to get a large enough bloc of tickets in 121, then? And if we're surrounded by Galaxy supporters, if they decide to get into the match we'll be drowned out anyway! 101 is larger, but if we all purchase our tickets with that in mind we could get a pretty good section going (considering there'll be, what, a dozen of us?) superbrad
Ok, like Brennanfan for Columbus I'm going to post V's who've committed in the opening post...Let me know if the list is right.

CanadasBest
I'm about 75% sure I'm going. The wife has given her approval and I can fly on Air Miles so that's good. The flights seem to be about $500.00 CDN out of Vancouver, $550.00 CDN out of Victoria, $400.00 CDN out of Bellingham (It looks like that Horizon Flight comes to over $300.00 US with taxes), and $270.00 CDN out of Seattle. For the guys that are planning on going, how are you planning on getting around? When Nazz and I went to LA back in 2002 it was very handy having a rental car. Looks like it's $150.00 approx. all in for 3 days if you have your own insurance coverage. Has anyone looked at Hotels yet? I was also wondering if anyone would be interested splitting the cost of a decent hotel for Thurs, Fri, and Sat? (By decent I mean 3.5 - 4 Star)
youllneverwalkalone
Question: Ignoring cost savings of flying out of Bellingham or Seattle, Flying to Toronto looks like $150 more. Is there any interest in trying to unite the Voyageurs in one location for maximum tifo? If we merged the two groups for Columbus, we'd be a lot closer to getting a Vs bus. How cool would that be? CanadasBest
It's not a bad idea. I would consider it if I could get that time off work. But I can't so it will have to be LA for me personally.
Lord Bob
I'm already going to Columbus as well (booked this vacation time off pretty well as soon as the dates came out), so no real need for me to pick. I'd definitely save the money and go straight from Los Angeles to Toronto rather than stop and fill your bus.
Lord Bob
Guys who know the western United States better than I do, if there were enough of us would it be practical to make like the Toronto Vs and arrange a bus from Vancouver to Los Angeles? I can't imagine many of us would have much trouble getting to Vancouver.
superbrad
^That would be a very long bus trip. For whatever reason, I can get to LA on points whereas there are no seats available for an eastern trip. LA is the only stop I'll be able to make. CanadasBest
I've driven straight through over night to LA on a few occasions. It's about 24 hours including stops.
Scottie
Interesting idea... I still have some passport issues to resolve before playing abroad but I'm considering it. Have to see the nats at least once this year!
