Cheeta
Tell me about it. I'm a-feard I may have to wait for the delayed broadcast on GolTV Saturday night.
amacpher
I think GolTV thought it made more sense to show both the Spain and Germany matches LIVE rather than the Holland-Scotland match which overlaps those 2 games. It makes sense really.
SCF08
Just like it's going to be a ''game'' It will be another practice session for us orange en route to the WC. Our B team did well today thrashing Germany in Germany (0-4 Half-time and Full time score) I dont expect anything less tomorrow from the big boys and on Wednesday away against Macedonia. I think with the right results we can qualify already for the World Cup after 5 games
john tv
Well next time c team against the Germans.Anyway it looks very good for de jongens, boys that is.It appears that the Dutch gang still is going to Betty's on King in toronto.Having been around these guys before it will be an Orange army, songs and all.I guess I beter try to remember the words or just hum along. This team is dynamite and would scare anyone,so after the 6-0 victory over the Scots the last time they met it does not look good, even more so since some key players are hurt.I predict 5-1,but hope for 2-1. All I have to do is shut out all communications to make sure that score is brand new. Will be a lot of fun and for those that want to experience the Dutch way come on over. FCH
How desperate you must be to celebrate this result in a meaningless friendly game. Try winning when it counts.

FCH
Congratulations then on this most significant win to our dutch neighbours. May you celebrate for decades to come.
john tv
Well what I remember the most is that lousy camara work.Rarely did you see the player with the ball and these were no flukes, time and time again.I don't know what the rational is but there it is.The game, typicall Dutch control type of soccer but with a lot less creativity.Rather predictable control and not the same as in the past.I guess it worked very well and as expected a well deserved victory.Obviously they are on their way to the old colonies and certainly will have that crowd behind them even though they speak funny Dutch, or Africaans or they mey hate us being an colony and maybe some nasty history I am not aware of.I think the Dutch behaved quite well. Robben was marvelous and highly motivated.
SCF08
We behaved quite well...?? Our great x5 grandfathers are the reason slavery was invented en Apartheid existed in South Africa. Apartheid is the most famous word in Dutch dictionary. I bet they are well pissed off with us !
john tv
oops I guess you are right forgot about that side of the story. I do believe that we made some great strides to overcome that stigma. I seem to recal that the Dutch were the first to abolish slavery and the first to recognize Nelson Mandella. I do know tha there are many Ajax fans in South Africa. It seems sometimes that half the Dutch team is black as well as many other tems in Holland. I suppose they redeemed themsleves which they should and have that tradition. It will be interesting that experience in South Africa and a tremendous step forward for many reasons. When I was the PR guy for the Blizzard we had Ace and David Byrne playing on the team,David was white and yet they got along just great and never ever was there a hint of problems this was well ahead of Mendalla taking over. john tv
Looks like the Dutch are unstoppable and can qualify in their next game against Iceland in June. This should not be a real problem. Today was another one of those typical Dutch games,Total control of the ball. I don't know how many passes there were but it may very well be a record. They never seem to stop and completed some of them in great goals. They were having fun and the commentators kept referring to total football which seems to be a Dutch thing. Still have not figured that one out.I realize that every player is suppose to play each others position and may switch from side to side and that Robben did. As a defender that must drive you crazy having to defend against this style and him in particular. I am glad that van der Vaart scored. I met him in Boston when he made his debut for Holland, A very nice young guy and full of awe of the players he was with that time. The Dutch make soccer look so simple and so straight forward which we all know ain't so. They just have those skills that make it look that way. Anyway my Dutch heart had a great time. jonovision
I saw a lot this game today. Part of it was that they were playing Macedonia. But Scotland didn't look much better against the Dutch. There was a great creative 4- or 5-player combination that ended with a Babel shot that was saved in the 2nd half. I'm not sure if it's Total Football, but it sure is fun to watch. P.S. Huntelaar is the new Ruud, but without the horse face.
john tv
I also realized that the Dutch start the game with total ball control which must have some influence on the other team.Must really imprint on these guys that they are being controlled and that it is a cat and mouse affair. As I observed the Dutch probably outpassed their opponents by a 3 to 1 margin while the ball possession in time musy also be in the 64/40 level if not higher. I did not see that stats. Is this a newer way of Dutch soccer,I realize that it is typical Dutch, that control but this was even more evident.
