spiral Posted February 25, 2009 Share Posted February 25, 2009 I think it's about time I raise the issue of why everyone is so hush hush at the Whitecaps office about the Vancouver MLS bid. Granted Lenarduzzi is a low key personality. Nothing wrong with that, except now is really not the time to be silent. Cause the competition isn't being silent. I for one feel it's very important for Vancouver to be granted a 3rd Pro Sports franchise. We've lost the Grizzlies, the Canadians as AAA, the Indy Car Race, the Fireworks (not really sports related but still a big deal)... I see and hear no excitement or enthusiasm about Vancouver's MLS bid. In contrast, Portland and Miami are banging the drums. There's a season ticket campaign going on in Miami right now and Portland fans showed up at City Hall yesterday to back up Paulson's efforts. brownbear Posted February 25, 2009 Share Posted February 25, 2009 Spiral, there's a Russian parable about a river freezing over during the winter, the idea being that someone sitting on the river bank would think that the river was not moving. Of course, it may seem that way on the surface, but if you were to submerge yourself just a metre below the ice, you'd notice a hell of a lot of activity.
