"The Insider has learned that FC Dallas is planning to trade Canadian midfielder Adrian Serioux to Toronto for a draft pick and allocation money. Serioux, 29"

"Planning to". God I hope TFC gets AS. That would fill a huge gap they currently have and with the offense they have already signed could be the lynchpin they need to make the playoffs. Please please please.

At 29 he has a good 4 years at least so this could bode well for some time to come!

I'll wait to comment until the "planning to trade" actually turns into "traded."

Although Serioux is a better Central defending Midfielder than a CB.

I hope it goes through and I hope he can solidfy the back end. I still hope Carver goes nowhere near a 3 Man Back End.

------------Sutton------------

Wynne--Velez--Serioux--Brennan

-----------Robinson-----------

Ricketts---------------Guevara

----------De Rosario----------

-----Barrett------Vitti-------

Dichio, Harmse, Cronin, Attakora, Frei, Smith, Ibrahim, Gala, White, Edwards, ?Hall? ?Kenton?, ?McGlinchey?, ?Garcia?, ?Richardson?

Depending on who makes out of the trialist we can only have 20 guys on the Senior roster and 4 Development. (hence why we have seen so many Development player leave).

Looks like we could squad depending on the damage the Turf does to Serioux and others that could slip into a playoff spot.

Please don't put Velez in the mix. I cringe every time I see him on the pitch for TFC. Absolutely TERRIBLE defender. Period.

Velez is not terrible at all. Yes he made a couple of embarassing errors, but other than that, he was perfectly fine. He also scored 3 goals, including our first ever goal in the Voyageurs Cup. Obviously, scoring is not the most important stat to look at, but I believe if they can teach Velez to not make those terrible errors, he is good enough to be our worst starter.

Tuscan is right we talk about this often, Velez is terrible. put him on if you need a tall guy on a corner kick or free kick other then that he is to busy making dumb mistakes. I wouldnt say a few mistakes i would say every other game he made a big mistake.

Fine I would rather have Attakora start at CB anyways, but a TFC fan you better get comfortable with Velez as Serioux has a dangerous injury history and Attakora will be going to team Canada every now and again as well as possibly Serioux and Harmse.

Velez will be getting lots of playing time unless he is moved elswhere.

Good to see Mo may have got a clue I think Winsper and Carver were kicking him in the ass to get a real central defender.

Maybe i'm naive [:P], but how often does a Strength and Conditioning coach "Kick the ass" of a GM to acquire players??

On the one hand, last year he logged a lot of matches with his club, IIRC. However, I did read somewhere (I think?) that he has been out with injury so far this pre-season. Perhaps someone else could corrobate this.

According to Gerry Dobson it may already have happened:-

http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/blogs/2009/02/23/dobson_tfc/

The big rumour is that the Reds have picked up Canadian International Adrian Serioux and that he could be training with the team as early as Tuesday.

All going well on that I wonder if people on here will finally drop the absurd stuff about Mo Johnston and TFC in general hating Canadian players? If they are actually good enough unlike Reda, Braz, Pozniak and Canizalez efforts will clearly be made to sign them.

If true it's hard to deny that TFC have made improvements all over the pitch this year. Still need another good center half who is ready to play but Serioux is definitely a BIG step up.

Very interesting. Two Canadian internationals acquired in the off season by Trader Mo.

Winsper's a very highly regarded part of the organization. Kind-of like Mick Salmon the Goalkeeping coach in Vancouver.

I'm sure he is a valued member of the staff, but you really think he's "kicking" Mos' ass? Unless you know something i don't...

Its about time TFC started picking up some quality Canadian talent, I figured him and DeRo would have been on TFC before this . . . but what's going to happen with the domestic player quota if Vancouver or Ottawa get a team? They'll have to call the Charleston Battery and get Marco Reda back in the league.

Nice trade, great to see more Canadians playing pro ball in Canada. I gotta say though, as an Impact fan I'm actually starting to worry about TFC now... :)

You and me both. Adrian brings a huge presence to the largest hole in the TFC lineup plus he adds a long range throw in that can be a very effective weapon. The only thing I've seen of him that would be a concern is his tendancy to get checked from behind. If he can get rid of the ball quicker he will be a major force for TFC.

Good to see for TFC fans but somewhat worrisome for Cap and Impact fans. Is this the year the Voyageurs Cup leave la belle provence?

I can definately see TFC making the playoffs this year.

But wait, can this really be true???

Mo:

hates Canadians

only signs players represented by Barry McLean

doesn't rate Serioux

at least that's what I've been reading here for 2 years.

But wait, can this really be true???

No Canadians good enough to play for TFC will play for MLS wages.

At least that's what I've been hearing from the TFC FO for 2 years.
