another canadian falls thru the TFC cracks. you cant tell me Cronin is better or should be prioritized over Rosenlund, who is a true attacking mid- so rare for a canadian. hope its not too late for him to get in with the Caps

Im sure many MLS teams could use a player like Rosenlund. Seattle would probably take him, proven MLS player.

If not Montreal might like to take him aboard and Im sure he'd like that too.

He's at an age now where he really needs to be playing regularly. That wasn't going to happen with TFC this season so maybe the best move for his career.

Agreed. But I think the same goes for a guy like Attakora: if he is only able to get "spot" appearences this year, that would be disappointing. I hope he is able to earn a regular first team place (preferably as a CB).

I'm not saying cronin > rosenlund but i'm not losing sleep over Tyler getting cut. he showed me nothing. I'd be more upset if a younger Canuck lost a job to an NCAA player.

Rosenlund needs to go somewhere where he can play (maybe a middle of the pack USL team).

With the attacking mid options currently available on TFC he was going to be playing little this year. I know we'll disagree on this, but he at least showed some instincts and a nose for the box. However, a country mile away from the finished article, for sure, and I don't think he's different from the other younger Canadians who had previously been released. Hopefully, he can latch on with a USL1 side and get more minutes. All the best, Tyler!

Rosenlund is three years older than Attakora Gyan so their situations are not really comparable, in my opinion.

When you look at it from an age standpoint, they are in different situations, certainly. Rosenlund is at an age where he should be a semi-regular and not mired way down on the depth chart, so he needs to find his level and play. In contrast, Attakora (19?) still could be viewed in the development sense. However, my point/issue with his growth this season is that if he isn't playing some significant first team minutes (and we can debate on what exactly consitutes "significant"), I have a premonition that his progress may stall. On the other hand, perhaps he's the special kind of player who can make very occasional starts or do late game, mop up subsitution roles and continue to develop simply through only regular training/practices with the main squad, who knows?

He has signed on with a VMSL team, until he can find something better, perhaps the Whitecaps.

Which team? The Caps were giving Ayre a look and I think Rosenlund is better than him. Sounds like a natural fit to me. They will need to groom a replacement for Martin Nash eventually.
