Vic
Doesn't really matter, it's over. Won't have a stadium sorted out in time for the decision. I think the only thing that gets them in is if the league doesn't have two other franchises left standing.

Senators avg 18,000 67s avg 7,000 Olympics avg 3000 The world junior championships set attendance records. 10,000 Tickets have been sold for the carleton-Ottawa basketball game tonight That crowd showed up at SCOTIABANK PLACE (in the suburbs) for a CIS game on a weeknight with a transit strike paralyzing the city. I would say they have some sports fans there!!

Soccer international versions here have done well as did long past tour games by euro teams with crowds at Lansdowne in the 15k plus range. MLS will work in this market, the city might still get smart and grab back some of the public lands in Lebreton Flats and put up a nice 7500 seat hockey venue for the Juniors and 25 to 20 K stadia to host MLS. That would leave the Glebe to have the park they want still in public hands, retaining the Aberdeen pavillion and having grass soccer pitchs etc. for community use. The city would have more luck trying to build a stadium in the sky. LeBreton Flats is ideal for a stadium. There is even a piece of land "reserved for a major cultural institution" right opposite the War Museum. But the NCC would never consider something as gauche as a soccer stadium. Even though it is on the Transitway. And the route of the eventual LRT. And 5 minute walk from downtown. And in the heart of what will (in their dreams) be a new neighbourhood.
