Guest Ed
http://www.concacaf.com/view_article.aspx?id=4593 Canada gets Mexico, Costa Rica and T&T in Group B. Piece of cake! Group A has USA, Honduras or St. Vag, El Salvador and Jamaica.
canucklefan
I hope it will be a piece of cake but to me it doesn't semm a piece of cake when you play against Mexico, CR and T&T.
jpg75
^ Sarcasm my friend. With T&T hosting the event they won't be as much of a pushover as the usually are at this level. If Mexico get Gio and Vela released they're the odds on favourite to win this group, but if they don't there's no reason we can't win the group. The domestic-based Mexican kids lost to the US 3-0 last summer.

Guest Ed
We had an arguably tougher group in 2005, with Mexico, Honduras and Jamaica. Won all 3.

Sure, but if we can win the group like in 2005 and '97 then why not aim for it? I think it's achievable.
Sam
This group of players has gotten a few decent results. I wouldn't be surprised to see them qualify. I hope they do, I love World Cups, even if they are U-20 or U-17 versions considering that's about the closest we get to a real World Cup.
Keegan
Missing a lot of players these guys have played well. Very deep team will definitely help in qualifying tournament.
Toronto MB
Whilst I am not particularly familiar with our U-20 batch, I still hold hope for our boys in this group. We are particularly strong in goal with Street and Stillo, and I am hoping both of these guys will really step up to the bar for this tournament. This is a tough group, no doubt, but our performance at U-20 CONCACAF level has been outstanding. (and credit to Mitchell for much of that success) Is Dasovic expected to coach this time around, or will it be the same guy who handled the Swiss camp? loyola
Fonseca is the head coach for the U20's. He will coach the team during qualifications as well (he also coached the team during the December camp in Florida where we played Haiti and USA). loyola
quote:Originally posted by Toronto MB What's the verdict on Fonseca? No one has seen the U-20's play so far, so tough to tell. Decent results so far, 1-1 with Switzerland, 3-0 win over Haiti and 1-0 loss to the USA. I hope the U-20's qualifications will be shown on the Web (with Mexico and the host in our group I think we have a decent chance of finding something). Then we'll be able to judge Fonseca.
