Vic
World Player of 2008 gets announced this afternoon. Two South Americans and Three Europeans in the final vote. Kind of odd when you consider that the only single tournament that mattered for women was the Olympics, and Olympic Gold is in North America. Marta is a heavy favorite with Cristiane the only other quality candidate of the five in 2008, and neither one able to deliver when the chips were down like Rampone and Solo of the USA. Think we'd see three North Americans and two Africans if the Olympic Gold was in Europe? Didn't think so...

Marta is the best because she is the most talented player out there, talent and greatness has nothing to do with scoring a fluke goal. I said it a million times, kick and run is not nice to watch and is not worthy of any rewards.
