I'm not referring to Randy's case.

My point was that most short players are exceptionnal talent and I agree with your assessment of the advantage it gives them (low center of gravity, etc.). But, an average short footballer will rarely made his way as a pro. A taller one has more chance. That's why I'm talking about disadvantage if you are smaller, unless you are something special it might becomes harder to make it.

The challenge for most short players seems to be physical. At the youth level they are often OK and quite exciting but when they are starting to play against men, some have a tough time to keep the pace.

In the case of Randy, I've never seen him play so I can't comment.
