BigBird
In Italy Casale wins the derby today by a score of 2-0 against Novese in the 12th match of the season. Uccello scores another euro goal from 30 yards out from the keeper. A shot that left the keeper standing watching it go in to the top right corner of the net. His 7th goal and leading of the team and scoring title in Seria D in the A division. He moves closer to the overall leader of Serie D of 10 goals. Guest Jeffery S.
Klukowski started and I think played 90 as Bruges beat Beveren to go into the final 16 of the Belgian Cup. Also into the final 16 is Klukowski's Lierse, he was subbed on in their away match vs Mons m. 78 and set up the second goal by another sub late to put it away, 0-2. On one match report in Flemish their seems to be a reference to Radz when he was warming up or still on the bench, the supporters perhaps chanting for him, or maybe the locals heckling him. Anyone with Flemish: "M. 59 Onze supporters roepen op Radzinski, maar momenteel is er nog geen enkele Lierse speler zich aan't opwarmen", from http://www.lierse.be/nl/match/mons-lierse-cofidis-cup# ? Copenhagen also went through in the Cup, can't find a game summary but in Danish on the FCK site they seem to put Hutchinson in the headlines referrring to the match. Deportivo, without De Guzmán, is also through in the Spanish Cup into the final 16. So some of our stronger players will stay busy when healthy. By the way Depor, almost by default, is now in a UEFA spot as well in the Spanish league, at 6th, the top of the bunch of clubs midtable who have no chance of fighting for the league. Saviola7
The supporters were calling for Radzinski, but (at that time) there were no players warming up on the bench. The 23-year-old will play his second league game for the Glovers at Leicester City tonight. Wagenaar has replaced compatriot Asmir Begovic, who has returned to Portsmouth after the end of his 93-day loan at Huish Park, and impressed in Saturday's 1-1 FA Cup first-round draw with Stockport. "I am quite laid-back," he said. "I am a bit of a Christian man so I feel my religion and God is more important than anything else in this world. "It takes precedence over football and that may give me a bit more of a relaxed attitude, but I am still very motivated and I want to win when I am out there. "Goalkeeper is a very pressured position, so if you are relaxed it helps the other players be more relaxed as well. "If you are uptight as a goalkeeper you are going to make mistakes and come for things you shouldn't. "As a goalkeeper you have to be switched on – at any moment in time the ball could be down your end. Off the pitch, one thing I do is read for a long period of time, because I think that is good for your own mental game." Wagenaar admits he was inspired by the three clean sheets Begovic kept as his loan was coming to a close. "Just at the end he had his best few games," said Wagenaar. "Maybe that came from a lack of pressure as he was going back. He played well and hopefully I can keep that going now." There has been talk of Begovic returning to Yeovil in the January transfer window. "I have heard that too, and if it comes down to it maybe I can go out on loan somewhere, but I want to cement myself in as No 1," said Wagenaar. First he faces a major challenge against Leicester at the Walkers Stadium this evening. "They just got relegated this past season so they still consider themselves a big club and I have heard it is a really nice stadium," said the former ADO Den Haag man. "There is never really any pressure on us. We go out to win and our preparation is the same whoever we play. "We played well on the weekend against Stockport and if we play like that we will have a really good chance to win. "There is a good atmosphere among the guys and we are confident we can go out and beat anybody on the day. "I am relishing the chance to get back in there and play a few games in a row. On Saturday it was about a month since I had played a game, so I was quite pleased with how it went. I felt quite sharp." Yeovil have asked Canada not to pick Wagenaar for next week's friendly with Jamaica so he can play in the replay with Stockport. Wagenaar is Canada's second-choice keeper, behind Lars Hirschfeld, formerly of Tottenham. The Canadians were recently knocked out of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, but Wagenaar has his sights on playing in the Gold Cup this summer. He added: "Hopefully for the next World Cup qualifiers I can be the No 1 and we can progress further than we did this time." Yeovil Town (from): Wagenaar, Alcock, Forbes, Skiverton, Jones, Peltier, Way, Roberts, Schofield, Noel-Williams, Warne, Rendell, Brown, Owen, Smith, Downes, Murtagh, Tomlin, Irish. Here's a quote from Wagenaar manager Russel Slade after their FA Cup draw against Stockport: Manager Russell Slade is happy to give Wagenaar his big break but wouldn't mind a bit more urgency from the Canadian. "When the ball went out at the end and there was three minutes injury time I thought he was going to have a cup of tea with the crowd behind the goal," he smiled. "He doesn't get fazed by much. He will work at his pace. "He is the most laid back man in the world. After the game he said: 'Do we get to play them again then?'"
