I may be conducting an exclusive Voyageurs interview next week with CSA.

What questions would you like asked..............

When will the CSA democratize its constituion and allow every club in Canada the right to vote directly for CSA directors and the President as is done in other National Sport Organisations, most notably Skate Canada.

1) Will the CSA make a strong initiative to train COACHES so that they, in turn, can properly train our young players? Rationale: Many talented players do not receive the training necessary to help them to advance because so many coaches in Canada, at all levels, are not adequately trained to teach and support SKILLS to/for our young players.

2) What, exactly, will Tony Fonseca's role be with national team programs?

3) What is the position/response of the CSA regarding the public comments made by MNT players about Dale Mitchell?

4) Will there be any Gold Cup 2009 matches played in Canada?

Thanks!

1. Is it fair/correct to have children's fees subsidize the MNT, and would the CSA consider turning the operations of the men's side over to an independent third party, should a suitable body exist?

[No tangible example exists per se, but Kerfoot's involvement with the WNT, might be a possible example of how such a situation would manifest itself]

2. Does he believe that MNT home fixtures can be profitable?

3. What are his realistic expectations for corporate sponsorship dollars in the Association's future budgets?

1. What steps are going to be taken to ensure a Montreal Sept. 6th-type debacle never happens

again?

2. What initiatives are being undertaken to double the CSA budget?

3. Are the CSA doing anything to find new investors for additional USL franchises, particularly once Montreal & Vancouver join MLS?

4. Will the CSA be very vocal about insisting that TFC's domestic quotas are higher than the pathetically low quotas they are currently operating under (leading to no appreciable greater success, I might add)? And if not, why not, given how crucial it is for Canadian pro clubs to be developing players for the national team pool just like they do in every other country in the world?

1. If youth sports fees are now tax deductable, what plans do you have to take advantage of that? Why not make the fees $100 or $500 instead of $6 increase?

1. What Constitution changes are you contemplating.

2. Are you satisfied with your job and what would you like to change.

3. Beside financial controls, what performance controls are in place.

4. Why do you believe the present society structure of the association is better than a corporate structure.

5. What are the strong points of how the CSA conduct itself and what are the weak points.

1. When will the CSA sit down w/ the MP & WP to negotiate a CBA for all the programs.

2. If the CSA is not going to negotiate a CBA, when will the CSA let players for tax purposes declare themselves as athlete contractors?

3. Constitutional question - When will the CSA actively include for feedback the Players Rep's of the MP & WP Programs on their programs, coach selection, program budgets & etc?

4. Constitutional question which was asked at the AGM. This question was not answered then nor has it been answered since then. - When will the CSA reactive the Female Committee which is Standing Committee in the CSA Constitution? Supply a list of members w/ contact info.

5. W/ the Strategic Plan what is the marketing plan to increase sponsor $ & new sponsors? Does Canada Soccer Properties still exist? Does the contract w/ IMG still exist.

Why is CSA HQ still in Ottawa and not at BMO Field?

Are the CSA going to insist that FIFA international dates be reserved at BMO Field for CSA events REGARDLESS of whether the CSA has/can/or will fill those dates?

Did the CSA really receive a FIFA directive insisting that the CSA governance model become compliant with the FIFA rules which require their member associations to have an equal "one-man one-vote" system at the Board of Director level? And if so, when can we expect to see this type of governance reform taking place?

How many senior players need to resign from MNT duty before Coach Mitchell is replaced? What's the magic number?

Will Canada host a group for the 2009 Gold Cup?

Are any initiatives in place to arrest the rise of unaffiliated leagues and with the CSA looking to increase the taxation on their membership is their a concern that the increasing number of players not registering with their provincial associations will continue to increase?

Good luck WF.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the last time the Voyageurs had an exclusive interview with the CSA, wasn't Kevan Pipe fired a week later?

Wonder if it'll happen again.

You think Montopoli could be fire anytime soon?

Only one from me:

The current organizational structure gives existing board members incentive to look after their geographic territiory but little incentive to take care of our competitive teams or player development. This can be referenced by who is voting on them to keep their positions.

Given this, doesn't it seem necessary that board members be appointed who's first responsibility is the results of our competitive programs without responsibilities to a given region? Shouldn't professional clubs have a say and voting power in the process as well?

How long have you had the report on the changes you need to make?

How much ( % ) has been implemented to date?

What is the timeline for implementing the rest in specific months & years (not vague soon or shortly)?

When will we see a nationwide futsal program?

PS. Thanks for naming the Canadian Championship the "Voyageur's Cup".

These are really great questions folks. I think that WF has done a great job in leading the Voyageurs. Special thanks to him for all his efforts(even if this interview doesn't happen).

I just want Dale Mitchell's position clarified.

Not really. I just found it funny that shortly after the one and only (as far as I can remember) exclusive CSA interview with the Voyageurs that there were some pretty monumental changes. Not that I'm saying that one begets the other, just that the coincidence was amusing. Being more facetious than anything.
