Whitecaps closer to new home - The Delta Optimist

After months of negotiations, Delta has moved a step closer to having a world-class soccer training facility at John Oliver Park. the municipality has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Vancouver Whitecaps for the soccer club to construct a training centre with playing fields and other park improvements. It has a price tag of approximately $25 million.

Delta is a suburb of Vancouver, and part of the GVA.

Bill, you are a schmuck.

It would take you approximately 30 minutes in average traffic to drive from John Oliver Park to Swangard and add 10-20 minutes to go to the Mythical Downtown stadium if it ever gets built.

JO Park is right off the Highway 91 at the interchange where the 91 meets the 99 on the Southside of the Fraser River at the Surrey/Delta border...

i've heard that Leonard Bobaduzzi is still planning on talking to a couple other municipalities, so they may not have a deal with Delta after all or perhaps they are having discussions with other cities to try to get more favourable terms from Delta. Does anyone else have more info?
