Jimmy
As has been posted by a few people already Julian didn't dress due to injury today. I was just on the Depor homepage and it says that the Club sent a fax to the CSA regarding Julian's condition. According to the team Doctors his adbuctor injury will require about 15 days to recover. Here is the article http://www.canaldeportivo.com/servlet/es.iris.servlets. Toronto MB
Could very well be some purposefully public misinformation by Depor to try and intimidate the CSA. It is clear there is some form of injury, but how does a player's diagnosis go from ready to play to "definitely not going to be ready for 15 days" without setting foot on the pitch. As has been mentioned, the CSA needs to press this. What the hell do we have to lose. They can keep Jules all they want if we lose this game, cause we won't have a meaningful one to play for 4 years. BrennanFan
no imhof, no jules, no serioux, no dero, no issey, no simpson, no brennan, no sutton, no nsaliwa. we're dicked.
VPjr
If Julian is injured, he should stay in Spain. However, after Mitchell was not fired, I cynically predicted to a co-worker that there might be some high profile no-shows for these two games and sadly, for various reasons, my cynicism has been proven correct. Gian-Luca
Worst possible news. The only bright side is that Honduras is missing key players as well, but this really makes a result against Mexico a tough proposition. Incidentally, since Julian isn't dressing for his club team games I doubt there is any question that he is injured.

Who are the other high profile no-show? Our back up and third string keepers? Like G-L said, JDG didn't even played for his club, so he must be injured. Jimmy
Like someone previously posted, since he hasn't dressed the last couple of matches the injury must be legit. I just wish him a speedy recovery. With De Ro also out suspended that leaves us pretty thin in the midfield. Will be interesting to C who starts in their absences. Keano
Now the Grande call up issue is actually more interesting than mere speculation: he fills the same type of role as Julian on the pitch, maybe now there's no USL final in the cards for him they should call him up. Guest Jeffery S.
If anyone thinks the don't play Julian out of spite or because they are quacks they are stupid. Lotina considers him a starter, he plays with the captain armband for crissakes. Anyways, pro clubs in Spain almost always release for FIFA dates with no problem at all, they are exemplary in that respect and you rarely hear complaints. The diagnosis is obviously correct but if you all want the CSA to play him injured and risk his career, give us another Jason Bent case, then start the email campaign, show them what you're made of. SilverSamurai
So.. 4 more years till the next campaign begins is it? This would be a miracle to pull off a win... I want to believe... but 4-5-1 makes me not be optimistic...

I don't disagree with the call-up but he doesn't really play the same role in the midfield where Julian has been used, and with Atiba, Bernier, Harmse & Poz all there already as potential d-mid destroyers, I'm thinking it might be be better if we selected Will Johnson in Julian's place. Certainly I hope the CSA doesn't simply call no one to replace Julian.

How can you not call a kid who's now getting into almost every EPL match for Newcastle?

David C.
quote:Originally posted by knottyleft Julian confirmed to me this morning he will not be making the trip to Miami or Home... If this is the case, I wonder if Martin Nash could get an emergency call. Although I haven't been able to watch him play this summer, he always seemed (to me) to be the best ball distributor we have. Put him in the hole behind the foward(s). His skills would be very helpful with Julian out. Plus, Martin is a lucky charm for us in CONCACAF competition. We could use some of that right now. David C.
^ Yeah, I figured that. In any case, I don't think Nash was ever on Dale's shortlist. I just feel that he should have been. Plus, I'm from Toronto. Screw Vancouver's league final.
loyola
Sandro Grande will be in T&T this week, might be a logical call due to his recent good performances with MTL. Wouldn't mind seeing Will Johnson as well.

But have you seen how much space the oposition has given him? one of the events that will stick in my mind was the play in that game versus Jamaica late in second half whereby he has 2-3 Jamaicans marking him tighly and yet he manages to dribble out of the situation somewhat. The Hondurans have him the same treatment. Yet has scored in this camapaign. which is more than we can say for some of the fwds.
tmcmurph
This is so bad. For one I think the hole we dug ourselves in the first 3 games just got a whole lot deeper. Instead of needing 3 wins and some help in other results we now need to do it without our best playmaker. Oh I just get depressed. I'm still going to Edmonton but I am getting very down again. The Caps win last night had me cheered right up and then I read this ....
