Updating the Southside at Swangard?

Could I make an open request to the Southsiders to give us an update on the negotiations with the club and give us an idea of how the changes are working out at Swangard?

I am not sure what has been implemented, what the results have been like, even if they have. What problems may still linger.

So shoot away, I am interested to hear about things leading up to the playoffs and I am sure many others are too.

Oh man, are you out of the loop!

Short and sweet: We got EVERYTHING we asked for within days of our meeting.

-The fence went forward

-Bleachers were consolidated immediately behind the net

-Warning signage re: language was posted at the entrance to the area

-Garbage cans were installed, eliminating about 90% of the litter

-Port-a-potties were installed

-Streamers approved (provided they stay on the spectator side of the fence)

-Security has been damn near *invisible*.

Best part? Jeff Clarke and other Whitecaps staffers brought us cases of beer after the next match! lol

We are presently very happy campers and we've made that known to The Duze. Hillary Campbell and Ryan McKee have proven to be top notch backers of helping us accomplish what we want to do.

I attribute our success to the doughnuts I brought to the meeting... lol.

Of course I am out of the loop, I have Xavi and Iniesta to think about these days. But I don't think anyone else not in Vancouver at the moment knew any more either, and we are definitely interested.

Sounds excellent, I am really pleased that it went so well.

Does anyone have any pics of how the stands now look behind the goal? Could you maybe take some pics and post them after the next playoff game?

^ There is a pic here which was intended to feature the Southsiders but doesn't really give the bigger picture. This shot by official Whitecaps photographer Josh Devins is taken from just behind the Southsiders' bleacher. Imagine a barrier fence just behind the advertising boards at the south end of the field, lined at least two deep with fans across the entire width of the field. Immediately behind the goals is a bleacher packed with carousing Southsiders.

Appreciate it Richard, but I am in need of something more technically precise.

And just to remind everyone, I don't use smileys.

I want to imagine myself there, and to that someone will have to do an interactive 3D model of the Southside for me.

Any takers? I can help you get university credits for your efforts if you are up to it.
