stacks
Has anybody heard if Bernier and Imhof have been replaced by anybody? Anybody heard if Radz is ready to go? Tx!
loyola
You can only put 18 players on your match list and we have 18 at the moment (Radz, Bernier, Imhoff and Sutton aren't with the team). No need for extra callups.

mayorofeastyork
Maybe he'll play Brennan at left wing in place of Radz. He subbed on at LW for Hume (who looked out of sorts) on Saturday so it would seem likely to me.
paul-toronto
I don't see Sutton in that list. Did he not go with the team to Mexico? Is the list even released yet; I don't see it on the CSA site. I hope he finds a way to use Brennan (or Sutton). I don't believe Mitchel watches TFC games. My evidence of this when he commented about the turf at BMO, saying that TFC plays better on the road on real grass. LOL.
stacks
so what he (radz) hurt his hand, why isn't he playing? throw on a band-aid!

No need for extra callups. The only problem is the balance of that 18 isn't ideal, especially if Issey isn't ready to go and Bernier & Imhof are gone. 4 of the 18 are ideally strikers and three are left backs, one might still be injured (Issey) and one more has no A team caps (Jakovic - though I have confidence he'll be good enough to play if needed). Just wonder if Mitchell will stick with a 4-5-1 with the personnel he has left - if he plays De Ro on one wing, presumably Hume or Brennan will have to be on the other if Issey isn't fit, and the third central midfield (after De Guzman & Atiba) would have to be Jakovic (unless he puts Serioux there, but not sure I want to see a Hastings & McKenna duo at CB against speedy Mexican strikers). Vancouver Fan
quote:Originally posted by stacks so what he (radz) hurt his hand, why isn't he playing? throw on a band-aid! Yeah,I'm curious about that too. The replay didn't show how bad it was. I know there was a lot of blood but I didn't think that the contact he made with the boards was all that bad. It's just so bizarre. I can't recall an injury like that to a football player before. We seem to get some really bad luck sometimes.
CanadasBest
From Sportsnet.ca with regards to Radzinski: "(He) got a pretty bad gash in his hand," Mitchell said. "I am not sure how many stitches were needed, but there was some concern about him seeing a surgeon and more concern that being down here he might risk infection."" villus
I think we should start Jakovic or Brennan as a holding mid and put Dero and Radz/Issey on the wings and have Deguz and Hutch as free roaming box to box players. We need Issey or Radz to give us 60 and then bring in Hume with Friend up front. By putting in a holding mid we give Dero/Deguz/Hutch more freedom to be all over the park and allows us to find the holes for our creative players. I think us not having Issey hurt us these two games, he was a solid creative player who has a lot of confidence hopefully he can go in Mexico, obvioiusly if we had Imhoff it would be ideal or even Tam but no use crying over spilt milk. mranski
that injury to radzinski should never happen. he was checked hard but he didn't hit the board very hard. do they not approve the safety of these boards. Are they using nails pointing up or what?
Paddy
I think Issey would relish the opportunity to play against Mexico. I think he would do well.

It only takes a few injuries and a suspension to suddenly make you need to consider options that a few months ago were not really on the radar screen for this qualifying round. I would really like to see what this Jakovic looks like (never seen him play), and like you I'm not inspired by a McKenna/Hastings pairing if one were to move Serioux in the holding role. I think Brennan needs to be in the starting lineup somewhere. He's very capable, very experienced, and I believe him to be a guy for "the big occasion," so to speak. CanadasBest
Is Issey available? If he's healthy he should start behind Friend. Issey has looked great and played well against Brazil.

Issey has looked great and played well against Brazil. I didn't think he had that good a match vs Brazil, even overlooking the glaring miss: too many poor crosses stood out. But in other matches I have been impressed, especially with his passing as part of the team's possession and build up and he's got good quickness on the attack. I agree that he would be a welcome addition if he gets the green light to go.
