Shameless self-promotion

Because it's there, and it sums up my frustrations pretty damn well, I urge everyone to check out the soccer blog that Squizz, Grant (a lurker on this forum) and myself write. Squizz's latest post is a doozy.

Please don't respond to this thread - I don't want to take away from the more important threads on this board - I just thought some of you might enjoy Squizz's post.

Which brings up a point, how many Canadian soccer bloggers are out there blogging predominantly about the MNT? My list has:

http://untothedogs.blogspot.com/

http://oot-football.blogspot.com/

http://footiefool.com/ (my own shameless plug)

http://www.thescore.ca/blogs/footy/index.asp?name=footy/ (Score gang)

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/blogs/soccerblog (Ben Knight)

http://www.sportsnet.ca/bios/dobson_gerry/ (Dobson)

http://www.sportsnet.ca/bios/ryan_johnston/ (Ryan Jonston)

http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/molinaro/ (CBC)

Any others that people can recommend?

The line:

quote:This had so many elements of the classic Canadian heartbreaker. From the “home” crowd, to the sending off, to Craig Forrest steadily losing his **** as the match approached 90 minutes, it was business as usual for Canadian soccer.

made me LOL!

Sorry, I didn't enjoy it. I've been reading too much of that stuff lately. You can find a much better article about the Honduras debacle -- one that isn't just a bitch session -- written by Joe Ross for the Score here: http://www.thescore.ca/blogs/footy/index.asp?name=footy/#5780

Squizz, just so you know, I'm not having a go mate. I'm just a bit tired of the negativity surrounding the Honduras match. I'm as disappointed (read p*ssed off) as anybody but if we put things into perspective this was just one match. Easier for me, I know, because I wasn't actually there, but I'd prefer to look forward to what ACTION we can take to improve things. Looking forward I can see that things WILL get better. We still have the Jamaica match to build on and hey, even 2010 ain't unreachable yet.

For sure, the key is to look at what can be done to improve things, and the best setting for that is a place like this board. That blog post I wrote was, as you said, pretty much a bitch session where I was just letting off a bunch of steam (which I actually didn't expect would be getting a plug on this board in the first place).
