CANADA vs Mexico - LETS BELIEVE!!!

MontrealVs

Recommended Posts

With 3 days before our next match, this is for all of us who still believe in our boys!

Mexico is playing in an unfamiliar stadium in the southern part of their country, they are comfortable with 6 pts, the weather is supposed to be crappy, we play better on the road anyway, and finally, WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE....

so...

I believe we can beat them.

anyone else?

Nope. We are done. Wasted a great generation of players under Mitchell. Hart please do the right thing and take over the team for these last 4 meaningless games.

I agree with both of you. I have little to no hope. But I'll be cheering them on just like it was a World Cup final.

OK...I am full of hope too. I hope Radz is ready to go.... Friend up front and maybe Hume to start.

C'mon put in Sutton...he tends to have amazing games every once in a while.

Dero, DeGuz, Friend, and Radz should be leading the boys in Mexico. A win is possible.

Lets hope the buys can shake off the "road loss" in Montreal.

Let's not give up --- BECAUSE WE JUST CAN'T.

If we are done, you might as well tell our Euro players to concentrate on

their club careers. And I can bet they all feel like sh** right now.

I haven't felt this low about our MNT since ... our Gold Cup loss to Guadeloupe.

Remember what happened after! We just have to regroup, FFS.

And Mitchell, better let Hart act as coach. And for DDR : show up this time !!!

I have red painted all over me, I'll never stop believing. We have to keep our heads up, even though we had a rough performance the other night, we have to focus at the task at hand. 3 points are up for grabs folks, no one is giving this game to Mexico. Our boys know its due or die, and they'll play with all their hearts.

DDR had an off night with the MNT, something we haven't witnessed often, but I expect him to be all over the pitch come Wednesday. Rob Friend had an imediate impact on the pitch vs Honduras as soon as he entered, expect him to be dominant. Many people overestimate the Mexican and give them way too much credit, believe in our boys as they have to believe in eachother in order to climb this steep hill.

I sure hope Friend starts...but will Mitchel surprise us even on that?

We only have 2 guys playing in the top leagues of the world at this moment. Friend and DeGuzman (Stalteri does not count at this point)...and it still boggles the mind why Friend did not start, no matter how good Gerba looked in practice.

There is no way Honduras and any other team in Concacaf would have done that. Unreal. That tells me something about Mitchel and the fact that he did not start Sutton/Brennan on Toronto fieldturf.

While I agree with you on the Gerba-Friend situation, I'm not greatly enthused on your Sutton/Brennan statement. I realize we've all been ripping apart Mitchell as of late, but his starting 11 in Toronto were the obvious choices going into the game vs Jamaica. Who would of predicted Onstad would have had such a gaf like the one he did.

In Montreal the starting 11 looked great until Radz got hurt and our confidence instantly went down. I know I was a critic of Radz but he looked good out there vs Honduras, hopefully he'll be ready and stitched up to go vs Mexico.

Sorry dude but that great generation has no heart. They have a last chance to show they do in Mexico if someone will step up to the plate and show some leadership.

Ed you're old enough to remember September 72, as someone posted on BigSoccer what is it in Canadian soccer culture that allows us to give up and quit after only two games.

We are long overdue for a big upset. If these players have as much talent as people here are saying and if they develop some cajones (in deference to our Concacaf opponents) they can get right back into it.

At this point I don't care who plays what position. Just find a way to win! Beating the conference powerhouse in their country would be about the only thing that would re-energize things. Hell play Lilyball for all I care.

The MNT need the win, we need the win as fans.

I'm picking a 2-2 tie. Go with a 4-1-4-1, drop back to true 4-4-2 as a fallback plan and go 3-4-3 if we get behind. If we are to go down then go down swinging damnit!

Every great team must find its character at a low point during the campaign.

The stage is set, we are two losses away from mathematical elimination.

I have said it before, but even a 0-0 draw must be seen as a useful result.

I hate to see it, but we may need to bunker down here and counter-attack with Friend.

I believe in Canada. I believe DeGuzman will play the defensive game of his life and hold the mid like he does for Depor.

I belive Stalteri will elevate his play for this test. I also wouldn't be surprised see Brennan come in at LB offer some character and experience in this tough situation.
