ken
According to the CSA, usually accurate, the starters are: Hirschfeld, Stalteri, Hastings, Klukowski, Serioux, Bernier, Deguzeman, Hutchinson, DeRosario, Radzinski and Gerba. Suprises: Lars and Gerba.
Natesta
I don't like it, I hope not.
jonovision
Which don't you like? Lars is a good move, Gerba is defensible, but not the choice I would make.
Natesta
I don't like starting Lars What's the last competetive match he's played?
Blackdude
They probably have the good names. I'm really surprised Mitchell gave the nod to Gerba instead of Friend.
Natesta
Also think Gerba is better coming on later.

BearcatSA
quote:Originally posted by Natesta Also think Gerba is better coming on later. Here's hoping he can pop a goal or contribute to one early on because with his style of play, no matches at club level, and a heavy pitch it would be surprising if he lasted longer than 60 minutes. I'd also prefer to see him come on as a sub against opposing defenders who may be more tired than normal under the playing circumstances. Regardless, make it happen, Ali! maccaliam
I hope Gerba isnt starting ahead of Friend. If this is true, the one thing you can say is Mitchell has balls for changing that up. This is the kind of move that either gets you loads of credit as being able to make the tough decisions, or is the beginning of the end of your career as the National Team Head Coach. Let's hope it's the former! Lars in goal. He sort of reminds me of Billy Zane from Titanic fame.

Joe MacCarthy
Well, aside from the goal, Gerba has had the only scoring chance of the first half, hitting the post with a header.
