ken
Watching this I'm wondering if some of these guys are playing for contracts next year. Rosenlund scoring definitely gives him a leg up for coming back next year, it isn't as if TFC is blessed with a lot of guys who can put the ball in the net in a game situation- see Barrett. By the same token Velez who hasn't exactly got rave reviews is given the capains band and gets a bad red card in a game where it was looking like TFC could steal some points puts them even further in the hole, can't be good for his career. Harmse is helping himself as is Ricketts, of course this is written at the half and all is even and a lot can happen in the second half.
ken
Horrible defending by Kambere and Titus on the second Chivas goal, more fault on Kimbere than Titus who was trying to repair Kambere's error. This seeems to have shot Kambere's confidence as he was doing ok until that point he made a few more errors then subbed off.
Guest Can. in UK
What formation did they play today. I notice that Smith, Barrett and Dichio all started. I would assume one of them was out of position, right?
nolando
Gotta feel for guys like Melo and Gala that werent deemed good enough to get even a minute in this game as a sub (while only one of three subs was even made), behind your Regans and Titus's. Maybe there is another factor, I dunno, but I sure wouldnt be too excited about my prospects if I were them. http://web.mlsnet.com/scoreboard/game.jsp?match=09062008_CHVTOR
Richard
^ Perhaps Carver was trying to make a point to MLS.
ken
Starting formation: .............Edwards ...Regan Velez©...Titus Kambere Ricketts Rosenlund Harmse Smith .......Barrett ....Dichio After about 15 - 20 minutes dropped back to a 4-4-2 with Kambere going to right back and Regan going to left back. Gaudet replaced Kambere at about 60-65 minutes.
youllneverwalkalone
Did Carver throw an almost 40, semi-professional Rick Titus under the bus in his post game interview? As if he, the manager, had no control of who was on the pitch? What a jackass. No class.
Gian-Luca
I think it was either Regan or Kambere he was throwing under a bus, probably the latter since he was subbed off. But I don't see how anyone could be blamed as being solely responsible for two goals, Regan & Velez were at fault for the first, Kambere for the second and the third came with most players caught up field & took an unfortunate deflection off Harmse to go in. On the positive side (about the only good news today for Canadian soccer fans) Harmse & Rosenlund were very good (Tyler actually scored twice but the second was incorrectly disallowed) and I liked what I saw from Gaudet, he showed some promise and some vision. rick titus
Thanks for the support guys it was a tough game for the boys because we haven't played together before. Yes, I probably should've stayed on my feet, but was trying to recover and get over because of the turnover. All in all we should have been up 3-0 30minutes in, but we weren't able to finish. Thanks for all your comments those who supported me, and I might see you again next week!
Rocket Robin
Quite a weekend Rick! Why did the Shooters have you in their Friday game (all 94 minutes) if they knew you would play in the TFC game in less than 24 hours? Workhorse!

rick titus
BTW please come support my team Real Toronto next weekend Sunday at the Vaughn soccer centre at methinks 4 or 5 pm for Ontario Cup finals, it will be a good game for sure! I x-rayed myself this morning and I think my bones are disintergrating along with my muscles. Sucks to be old, but I am heading out to practice soon, so I will write back and let you guys know what's good. Viva la voyageurs!!!!
ken
Hemming leaves and Carver flays him in the press for letting the team down. In a game where the team is missing 9 starters due to international play and another two or three due to injury only two of the development squad get into the game, Rosnlund and Gaudet. Great way to motivate those who remained and instill loyalty to the club, I'm thinking particualrly of Gala here, played last year and must feel that he ranks lower than the club mascot in the depth chart now. As to the game, all credit to the guys they played until the last moment beleiving they could win which is something that the regualrs do not often do, giving up at about the 75 minute mark. Ivan
Rosenlund was easily player of the game. Shame Gala did not get on as Smith did very little.
ag futbol
Gala should have been played and Kambere might of had the worst game of anybody i've ever seen playing for TFC. I can't believe they bothered to bring him in. John Carver is no better than a minor soccer coach and Mo Johnston might as well be picking players by throwing darts at a board, because he has no eye for talent. Crazy_Canuck
Don't forget to view the post game analysis from Carver. Damn, I feel for that guy. http://toronto.fc.mlsnet.com/t280/index.jsp

Juby
when I heard they wanted to sign Tim Regan I seriously considering calling them and saying "YOOOO, lemme play D", at least I'm capable of a cleansheet if I'm paired with a less aggressive CB (LMFAO). But seriously, that whole regan and kambere thing was just retarded, it looked like John wanted to play the crappiest team he could just to make a point. I could find probably 5 more talented, hell, more game fit players in the GTA in a day then a retired tim regan. Carver been really starting to bug me lately, the more the season goes on the more it seems like he's just pretending to really know what he's doing beyond a superficial level, I'm probably being to harsh to soon though. Socawarrior
Yo Rick, caught the game on RSE it was great to see you playing again. I know your time in Montreal was short, but those were definately great times! Last time I saw you was when you were in MTL with the Lynx, and Ace was on the coaching staff. Will you be coming to MTL for the Joe Public/Impact game?
