VPjr
Update on Robert Stillo: Robert was invited to join the Genoa Primavera (reserve) team this week in a week long international tournament in Torino. Teams included Benfica, 3 south American teams, AC Milan, Chievo Verona, 3 teams from Brazil, Regina, and other. A total of 16 teams participated in all. Genoa's Primavera squad brought Robert as the third goalie. However, on Sunday, Robert was fortunate enough to see game action. In a match vs. Regina, Genoa Primavera's normal starting gk was nursing an injury so his backup got the start. With 30 minutes left in the game and Genoa trailing 2-1 (and down two men) the second goalie got pulled and Robert went in. He immediately made a nice save on free kick from just outside the 18 yard box and also made a big save on a 1v1 situation. Apparently, Robert has impressed the coaches at Genoa with his ability to be supportive as a bench player and come in to do the job when called upon. Should be an interesting week to follow. He was very thankful to get the experience and call up! I really believe that big things are in Stillo's future.

ag futbol
quote:Originally posted by SeanKeay An awesome hipcheck by the goalie on the rsl player after the goal Not sure what was better, that or Espindola breaking his ankle celebrating a goal that was called back. Very nice goal by WJ. I think i hand to rewind it once because you don't normally see people finish that easily in MLS.
