Sam
Sent this email to sportsnet a few days ago. Will you be showing the Canada - Mexico men's national team soccer match on September 10th? Will it be live, if so on what channels? Thanks Sam Got the following in response Hello Sam, Thanks for your recent email. Unfortunately, we do not have the broadcast rights for that match. Our apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause. Sincerely Jim LaChapelle Audience Relations Are we gonna get this game??????
Massive Attack
This is terrible news. Hopefully Sportsnet doesn't step in the way of someone like CBC, FSWC or Gol TV making up for this. Who is Mexico's usual home broadcaster?
bettermirror
We will get this game. They say that about every game until they make the announcement. If nothing else it'll be on sportsnet.ca live streaming.
red card
since it's mexico, there will be plenty of streams to choose from online - http://www.justin.tv/directory should have 3-5 on its own.
Gian-Luca
Streams are tolerable for us as a last resort but there shouldn't be any reason that this game doesn't get shown in Canada on national television. Perhaps we ought to check with the CSA to see if they know what is going on.

My sources tell me that both home and away games will be shown live on at least one of Sportsnet's digital channels (except, perhaps, the October 15th. game because of a clash with MLB playoffs). Soldeed
The Mexican FA website lists the start time is 8pm CDT (local time) which is the same as 8pm EDT here, etc, etc. S.
Toronto Ruffrider
Web stream or not, Sportsnet's coverage sucks big time. The lack of publicity the CMNT receives from the CSA is one thing, but Sportsnet does nothing to market this team to the rest of the country. When the broadcast rights are up for renewal, I hope another network picks them up.
Toronto MB
If I'm reading Telemundo's website correctly, on the front page they have an interactive schedule in the bottom right corner. Its showing the game at 9PM/8 C(entral) on Tuesday Sept. 9th. So not sure what to make of that right now. Have a look. http://tv.telemundo.yahoo.com/

When the broadcast rights are up for renewal, I hope another network picks them up. This have been my problem with them. There is no publicity of the games when it does not get shown on all of their networks in Canada. (which is every single time!) I understand their profit motive but I sure hope the CSA understands what is happening. TSN and CBC should get the rights next time...they were able to coordinate the olympics on both networks; no reason they can't do that with WCQ...increasing greatly the chance that all games would be live to all Canadians. We know that there is only one version of TSN in the country...i would even take the Score. The current regional broadcasting at sportnet is not working for the sport here...i hope the csa realizes this too.
Soldeed
I just received this response from Sportsnet regarding the Mexico game: quote: From: "Sportsnet Audience Feedback" <Feedback@sportsnet.rogers.com> Thanks for your recent email. We certainly appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately, at this time the broadcast of Canada v. Mexico is yet to be determined. Regardless, I have forwarded your comments to our programming department.
