Grizzly
I wonder if any of Sam's Army made it to the game if they would then have problems back in the US. Wouldn't that be crazy, getting arrested/fined for supporting your country abroad. http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Soccer/2008/09/01/6630316-ap.html
nolando
it would definitely be a more adventurous than usual away game to support, but i am pretty sure the americans would all be traveling through a third country (either canada or mexico) and then the cuban officials wouldnt be stamping their passports (they rarely stamp canadians' passports either), thereby not leaving any trace of a visit...of course there are scores of americans in cuba all the time, young and old, and many of them semi-permanently - but like snowbirds in florida, i doubt that many would be interesting in coming out to a concacaf game

It's all pretty stupid if you think about it...

CanadianSoccerFan
USA vs Cuba is interesting... however I'm hoping to see the potential USA vs Iraq match up at next year's Confederations Cup. Now that would be something!

However, I am assuming this match will be televised in the US and was thinking what would happen if a group of American supporters was shown watching the game live in Cuba. Would the US agencies try to identify some of them and give them problems when they return to the US?

Guest Jeffery S.
Americans can go from the Yucatan for example and you can get the Cubans to not stamp a passport, or so I have been told. You can also go to Cuba for cultural reasons, so if you dig up some film festival or other event of a cultural nature, you can justify your visit. Though I recognize it would be difficult.
