4-5-1 or 4-4-2?

He can't change to a 4-4-2, I don't think we'd perform as well with that setup. I think we definitely need the defensive mid out there just to give the guys on the wings the confidence to really pressure high, it almost gives us three strikers at times.

to me from what i saw he may play a classic 4-3-1-2 or a 4-3-2-1

hirscfeld

stalteri serioux hastings hutchinson

imhoff

bernier hutchinson

de guzman

de rosario/radzinski

friend

i think he is clever to react from lsat game were mifield was at limbo, to many passes lost, erratic paly, couald have been a disaster against a higher team. canada was not able to control the midfield..... specially 2 nd half,

the mexico -jamaica game now in mexico, could benefit more to canada if canada and mexico win

When was the last time the MNT played with two forwards?

If they can practice and be ready to play in that formation (4-4-2) then I think we should. We have enough talent. I'd say Friend and Gerba with Occean to sub. Unfourtunately that means Imhoff doesn't start but we can bring him on if we get a lead.

Edit: I actually like what El Hombre suggests for the mid but I don't think Mitchell is going to put Radzinski on the bench.

On the other hand, maybe we don't change. Against Jamaica we had at least 3 very close chances that could have been goals (that wern't). Give us one of those or subtract the Onstad mistake and we probably wouldn't even be talking about going to a 4-4-2 (just my two cents).

.................Hirsch..................................

..Staltieri.......serioux......Hastings......Kluko

.............Bernier..........Imoff..............

Atiba...........JDG.................Derosario

..............Gerba.............................

I believe latino teams do not have the patience so lets sit back have Bernier Imoff tear it up and counter all day with Atiba ,JDG, Dero,Gerba who can switch up all over the field and confuse a soft honduran defense.

1-0

Gerba 53'

No Serioux?

I agree with Hume-Friend up top; both have started their seasons well. I hope Imhof isn't injured. Him and Julian are top holding midfielders for their teams. Honduras will also have a strong central midfield, that guy from Wigan seems to get good reviews, and Guevara is no slouch. I think it's time for Hutch on the wing, I hope Dale reads this because on the wing he will be more involved. He is a good distributer from the middle, but so are Julian and Imhof. Plus Hutch has pace, something that doesn't get noticed when he's in the middle.

So....

--------Friend-----Hume-----

---Hutch--Imhof--JDG---DeRo----

Brennan--Serioux--Hastings--Staltari

--------------Lars-----------------

*At this point, I wouldn't agrue with Kulkoski for Brennan or McKenna for Hastings. After 5 training sessions, Big Kev will be re-accustomed with the other guys, and Brennen is in mid season.

With the exception of Gerba for Friend, that was how we started the game vs CR a year ago at BMO, right?

Yep. And the only thing we really missed that game was someone bringing the ball down up front. And a more clinical finisher up front (although Friend did miss a bit of a sitter when he came on in the second half).
