Sam
Stalteri to QPR. All the money in the world can buy you... Paul Stalteri ... on loan.
Cheeta
Huh. First I'd seen of that but not sure what it means. Leaves Stalteri available for recall as he won't be in the Prem but he'll be stepping down a notch as it were. Course, he'll get playing opportunities so maybe this is a marketing move with an eye towards January. BUT 'Spurs could be in dire straights by January but with money in the bank so who knows what's up? Man City made a bid for Berbatov earlier today. That's going to be a fun one to watch. schafer
Corluka to Spurs surely means Stalteri is on his way out, no?
ChrisB
quote:Originally posted by schafer Corluka to Spurs surely means Stalteri is on his way out, no? Definitely leaves the Spurs depth chart like thi: RB: Hutton, Corluka, Gunter, Random Midfielder, STALTERI CB: King, Woodgate, Dawson, Corluka, Random Midfielder LB: Bale, Assou-Ekotto, Gilberto That is a long long way down the pecking order. Random comment on teh Guardian today from Leyton fan says that Stalteri was seen going into Orient's home ground this AM, but as that is where Spurs reserves play and they have a game tonight, well... trueviking
i think the depth chart is more like... RB: Hutton, Corluka, Gunter, Random Midfielder, coach's wife, guy in the stands who looks like he might be ok, white hart lane parking attendant....STALTERI. trueviking
not really...its pretty clear that they have no intention of playing stalteri under any circumstance...
ChrisB
Abundantly clear... They started Gunter, a 19 year old kid, and had TWO back up Left Backs on the bench, instead of Stalteri and one Left Back.
Cheeta
Wouldn't read too much into things at this point. Spurs made a pile of money on the market today (even after spending) but I think the bloom will be off the Ramos rose by New Years unless 'Spurs turn things around in a big way. Which at this point seem unlikely but I guess we'll see. I'm sure Diesel doesn't want to wait things out and see which way they evolve. Not after last season. trueviking
tough for a 30 year old in the supposed prime of his career to essentially sit out another half season at least...i am pretty disappointed that he didnt get moved even to a CCC team...you only get one career..he is wasting his in the stands...in 2 years he will be considered too old. what a huge mistake it was to sign such a long contract with spurs... VPjr
^ from 2 different stories I read online, inlcuding the one linked two above, it sounds like Diesel is moving to QPR or CP.
Toronto MB
The dust has cleared after the midnight deadline over here. Paul Stalteri remains at Tottenham despite reports he would move to QPR or Crystal Palace. Hugely disappointed for Paul. Is there any hope they will just release him since they have no intention of using him? Could he come back to MLS? What are the option now? maccaliam
I am not definitely sure, but I believe that loan moves are still possible outside of the transfer window. Anyone know for sure if this is the case or not?
Loud Mouth Soup
There is a separate loan deadline.
Captain Spaulding
quote:Originally posted by Loud Mouth Soup There is a separate loan deadline. I believe that emergency loans can be arranged in the period starting a week after the transfer window closes and ending sometime in mid November. They have to be short term, but by remarkable good fortune, the duration of the loan can overlap the next transfer window. So Stalteri could go to to QPR or Crystal Palace (although as a Charlton supporter I would cringe at that prospect) and have the arrangement made permanent in January.
