Hello boys, (and girls)

Looking at getting an order together for anyone wanting to purchase a jersey. We're going to make the Kits straight from scratch and found the model and a place to embroider it. It's roughly the same cost as you would pay in stores but anyone who is looking for a long sleeve (like me), can have what they want this way. Gauging the level of interest and obviously, the more we get, the cost goes down. They wouldn't be ready for MTL but we would have them for EDM and the HEX. This may be your only chance to score a long sleeve if you are looking for one for those cold winter months.

APRX cost $90-$100 (without name). Extra $15-$20 for the lettering.

Cheers

Since you are getting them custom done, why don't you remove the ugly polka dots that ruin our current kit?

I think even the stock ones come w/ it. Can't be THAT custom! lol

At the local soccer store, the guy said it was adidas' new climacool thingy. Admits is does look kinda funny though. lol

What colour will the Canana logo be and will be be the current one or one w/ the retro font?

btash... Califax and I are working on these jerseys... We are buying them without the logo, and then going to an embrodiery shop to get them to embroider the logo onto the jers....

my bad i didn't read the initial post. but they look good anyway...

The CSA/Adidas doesn't make long sleeve jerseys available for sale... And the away jersey they are selling is not the correct color style... We are just trying to make the best possible jersey to support the boys..

We aren't making money off this... We are using an authentic logoless kit that Adidas makes and sells in stores, and are embrodering the Canada soccer logo ourselves...

Agreed. It's not like they're losing anything since it's not like they're losing $$$. adidas is still making $$$ since it's a real adidas kit and the long sleeved isn't even available.

I still want black though![^]

why would you do a black one... thats not our colours. i agree with Tricolore20 it's illegal, and it shouldnt be on a supporters site. If you want to wear your Canada jersey in the winter just wear a long sleeve shirt underleath it, it is a lot more warm that way anyway.

So your concern is in protecting the CSA for all they have done to promote the game? Oh yeah, oops. Let me stress again, we are making no money off this. We are merely trying to provide true fans with a chance to get the apperal that CSA has no interest in providing. (I own a red one that I bought in the store already , by the way)

To me putting a Canada soccer logo on your own jersey (that again, I can't buy from the CSA) before you drop 550 bucks on a plane ride from Toronto to Edmonton, doesn't sound like I'm really ripping anyone off or acting with dishonest intentions.

It's the equivilant of downloading a song off Limewire before you shell out cash to go see a band live. Anyone downloaded music before?

That being said if someone has strong objections to this, I will have no choice but to make sure any kits I order will not have the canada logo. :D "wink"

I like the black kit. The black kit is the 3rd jersey which the U-20's wore last year for a pre-tourney game.

How is it illegal? adidas doesn't sell the long sleeved versions. If anything they're making $$$ because I wouldn't buy the short sleeved at full price. Besides we all know they grossly inflate the price for us Canadians anyways, but that's another topic for another thread. Anyways I personally don't see anything wrong with this.

Are you guys going to have 1 demo one made up before taking the final orders in order to see how they turn up?

Agreed.

I wouldn't compare this to downloading mp3's though... lol

Wasn't their supposed to be an official group buy to get Canada merch through the CSA though? I remember that being brought up in a thread...

We'd like to get a demo made up, but obviously the more items we get shipped here the less it will cost everyone. So if we can find a canadian vendor, then it will be easy to get a demo. If not we could do orders in waves and you could catch the second train (or just pay more).

Cool.

Would be nice to seeing it before hand.

That's all.

You'll probably get more interest if you also post this up on the various other supporters groups' sites.

Keep us updated.

I bought a short sleeve kit for 115 bucks last week at BMO Field, it wasn't even what wanted, first off because it was short sleeve and secondly because it didn't have a name or even a number, but I bought it to support our crappy national association in the hopes that by giving them some money, they'd improve. I think I've done my duty to financially support Canadian football.

By the way, put me down for a red long sleeve, no. 6 De Guzman... Thanks very much, man. I'm telling you right now there's not a chance of me going to Edmonton, I can't afford it and I'm still in school, but I'm sure I can get it another way?

I remember seeing roundtrip from Toronto > Edmonton for $220ish on bus though.

I'd actually consider it if it wasn't my midterm time. [|)]

Regarding the concerns that this is illegal:

Several years ago, I bought a red kit and asked a local outlet to steam press the logo onto the shirt. I did not think it was a big deal as it was one shirt, and I made no money off of it. They would not even touch it, saying it was a copyrighted logo and they did not want legal action against them. They even refused to sew on a logo I had from another older kit - they said they cannot touch a registered logo, no matter if I am making money or not.

I agree with you guys wanting a long sleever, but please proceed with caution.

just watched a story on CTV news about this family printing licensed logo's onto plain old t-shirts. they ended up getting sued for some 10,000 grand - small difference b/w them and this idea of course is that they were selling the shirts for profit (worth a total of 100,000) in a local business. we are not.

i agree - proceed with caution.

someone might want to liaise with the CSA and let them know what would like to see happen - maybe they'd be willing to make some long sleeve canada kits available for a minimum order???

The CSA? Actually do something?

Could test it by means of asking them if the long sleeves will be available...

It's also likely that they do check here, but even that I think is a long shot...

You may want to double check the away kit colours. I am under the impression for WCQ the white kit is completely white. White Adidas stripes on a white jersey. I have seen them in stores although I know the senior team has not worn them yet. If you're gonna do a mass custom order then I would find out from the CSA (although good luck if anyone there knows) before a huge order gets placed.

I am about ready to buy mine from L&M Taylor at Yonge and Eglinton but I am waiting to find out if the numbers on the kit are red or black.

Cheers,

Michael
