Did a St. Pauli defender or midfielder get a red card? Good to see him start

Yup. Morena picked up an ol' Rote Karten in the 2nd minute. Furth scored in the 18th to make it 1-0 and Hoilett came off soon after. In the end they fought valiantly but lost 5-2.

Since when is the Dutch 2nd division in Belgium? lol

I thought Bonifacio started for Cambuur last year?

The dutch second tier is also call Jupiler League.

Yes, he was starting but apparently they've signed some new guys and Brandon found himself back to the bench. Hope he'll get some PT soon.

Too bad. Starting at 18 was pretty impressive last year.

I stand corrected on the name. Never knew that, I always just called it the Dutch 1st Division

From Wikipedia:

The Eerste Divisie (English: First Division) is the second-highest division of football in the Netherlands. It is linked with the top-level Eredivisie via a promotion/relegation system. It is also known as the Jupiler League due to sponsorship, which is the same name as the top league in Belgium. It is now named after Jupiler Pils; previously, it was most recently known as the Gouden Gids Divisie after a five-year sponsorship deal with the Dutch Yellow Pages.

Jupiler is a beer. This is my only post of the last 4 days by the way. Jupiler, as I said, is a beer.

In Italy,

TERNANA-OLBIA 1-0 in Coppa Italia first leg

Masciantonio played 71 minutes into the Second Half and then was sub out. It was thier first leg of an away game.

Pro Belvedere - Casale 2-2 Coppa Italia first Leg

Uccello played the entire match. Down two goals and a man, Uccello managed to find the sweet spot in the last 10 minutes of the regulation and netted two goals in an away game. His 9th goal in 5 games.

On the right you have a poll asking who should be Yeovil starting keeper between Asmir and Josh.

http://www.yeovil.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=121980

Wagenaar Relishes 'Boro Test

With Asmir Begovic cup-tied, fellow Canadian Josh Wagenaar will once again get the chance to impress between the sticks against Middlesbrough.

Wagenaar was in fine form at Charlton in the first round of the Carling Cup, making one particular outstanding save just before half time to keep Yeovil 1 up.

Speaking to the Western Daily Press he said 'I am relishing it. Any time you can play a Premier League side is a chance to show what you have got'

The keeper spent time at last Saturday's opponents Leeds before moving south to Somerset and Josh admits he hadn't heard of Yeovil before.

'Before I came here I never really heard of the club - nothing against Yeovil but the coverage of football overseas is mostly Premier League and the Championship. But you come here and find out they have a history of cup runs and now we are on another one'

His long term aim is to become a starting keeper in the MLS, where he has family connections.

'One of my brothers still plays at 28. He's a center back and wants to make a go of it over here. I haven't told the gaffer about him just yet'

Vital Yeovil View :

If Josh plays as well as he did at Charlton, Slade could have a selection headache on his hands, which will be unusual for him in the goalkeeping position.

Rumour has it that whilst on loan here Begovic has to play, probably part of the "cut-price" deal to let Harry Redknapp release him.

But, what this opportunity does do, is remind Slade that he is ready to take the reign from Begovic, should Asmir be recalled or his current loan spell not extended.

Who should be our permanent starting keeper?

Tell us by voting in our new site poll or by leaving an article comment.
