Ruiz is another Cunny! Bad trade for Toronto unless Ruiz can find his scoring touch.

My thoughts exactly!

This guy has flat out sucked for LA all year and he gets much better service in LA than he ever will in Toronto. He also looks like he's out of shape.

This move is just confirmation Mo Johnston is out of ideas.

Wow, is Mo trying to make Canadians hate this team or what?

It seems that way. I'm not in Toronto and not a die-hard TFC fan by any means, but I've still watched most of their games and hoped for TFC to do well until now. I probably would have defaulted to supporting TFC if/when Montreal and Vancouver join MLS, but signing Ruiz basically guarantees that I'll be cheering with Montreal if they join MLS.

Ruiz is pretty much given to TFC, he is a sallary dump for LA so they can bring in Eddie Lewis. So we couldnt of gotten Will Johnson for less.

Ruiz is a scumbag, but its a good deal. If you look at this from a non national team perspective he is a 28 year old striker in his prime whos on a contract year. Thus he will be playing his heart out for all his money he can get next season.

Also, Ruiz has started 3 games this year when he is used to be playing game in and game out. Injuries + Buddle scoring 13 goals kept him out of the roster.

Good move by mo from an actual mls only view

Guest Jeffery S.

TFC fans prefer scrub washed college boys and footless journeymen from the Isles, play boring football that they adorn with cheerleading from the endzone (good place to be since the further you are away from half the play the better), then haughtily come on here to tell the world the don't want no scumbag playing for them.

For chrissakes guys, don't you see the only way you are going to actually see anything remotely entertaining at BMO is if you sign all the creeps, pimps, slacks and greasers you can get?

Or are you afraid that supporting Ruiz is going to corrupt your schoolboy mores?

This is not a good deal at all. We've essentially replaced one washed up striker (Cunningham) with another (Ruiz).

This is also a classic knee-jerk reaction from Mo Johnston. The fans were pining for a move because it appeared the team was subtracting talent while it was already under-performing. Improving the defense is a much more pressing matter. As long as TFC keeps trotting out guys like Marco Velez it won't matter who the strikers are.

It seems to me Mo Johnston doesn't really have a plan. He is more about 'gestures'. Making moves so that people think something is getting done. But no real direction or purpose.

The over-the-hill players just get rotated and replaced by a new batch...

Hes 28! How is this guy washed up guy like cunningham? Cunningham was 32 when he came to toronto, and past his prime.

I really thought you were better then this, ur losing your mind man.

WE GAVE UP NOTHING BUT A DRAFT PICK for a potential star striker, how in the world is this a bad deal. He isnt a terrible contract since hes a free agent next season. The worst thing that can happen is that he stinks, we dont make the playoffs and we dont resign him and we have 400k in open space to sign someone else

If he wasnt on the team we would be in the same spot... so hes a rent-a-player until november.

He's not washed up because of his age. Its the fact that he has sucked for the last year. Now, if he turns his career around with TFC I will give Mo tons of kudos for pulling this trade off.

But I still contend that this team has far bigger problems than its strikers, especially in defence.
