This thread is a waste of bandwidth.

Nice to see you make your vote .. what was it by the way.. but seriously Richard you more then most should understand that atheletes sign agreements with the Sport Associations or Unversitys to not bring a negative focus on the team or sport.

I think the initial response to Sinclairs comments indeed brought the game into disrepute.

If we dont hold the WNT program and its memebers to a consistent standard equal to what would be done to a male player in similar circumstance are we not indeed being Politcally Correct beyond belief ?

You have often argued the other side... when you discussed the Hooper situation, so I am just wondering where the consistency is ?

In any case I am off the "No Where" team game tonight at BMO hope everyone enjoys the game.

^ I don't disagree about not bringing the game into disrepute but that is hardly what Sinclair did. Her coach may have said to her quietly afterwards that her comments were a bit intemperate but I think she is experienced enough to figure that out for herself. The powers that be will do precisely what some of us with cooler heads here are saying, get over it, she spoke out in the heat of a highly emotionally charged moment. Besides, de Vos' comment was provocative under the circumstances whether you agree with him or not. This is a non-issue blown out of all proportion by the media and WNT detractors. Time to move on and not waste any more bandwidth.

I do not take the same stand on every issue regardless of the relevant facts which is what you seem to be implying I ought. I evaluate the facts and draw my own objective conclusions in each instance. You should try doing the same sometimes.

I'm sorry but I've read you enough (and some times agreed with you) but you aren't what I would call "an objective poster".

With your over 4300 posts you are one of the main users of your so called bandwith. Follow your own advice and move on. Leave the rest of us to discuss matters without your constant double standards.

No more opinionated than are you and I never claimed to be an objective poster, just that I draw objective conclusions based on facts.

Sure...the sanction for every player who spouts off after a hard loss without thinking should be "charges" from an amateur board. [:o)]

Yeesh...

Shake your Whitecaps loving head and answer me this .. if it was so spur of the moment.. how did Sinclair know what was said on the broadcast ? Spur of the moment is your interviewed in at the break in mid game on the pitch as you walk to the change rooms. Or when your sitting on your ass aftering giving it your all.

Sinclair lashed out and not because it was heat of the moment she lashed out.. because she parrots the lines she is given.

PS how is the campaign for stadium going in Van for the Whitecaps ?

Not sure how the club I support or the public campaign for the stadium come into this, but I think it's obvious that Christine Sinclair's response was a knee-jerk reaction very similar to your response to me above.

It's a lot like Wayne Gretzky's comment calling the New Jersey Devils a "Mickey Mouse" organization in 1984. It didn't look good on him, just as this doesn't look good on Christine Sinclair. He got ripped for it. She's getting ripped for it. Gretzky took his hits, but he didn't get fined or suspended for it. Same should go for Sinclair.

Not surprising to observe that most of those who are whining about Sinclair's outburst come from the Charmaine Hooper cheerleader / anti-Pellerud camp.

And those supporting come from ?

Truth is thier is polarization and two sides agree to disagree, the interesting part is the ones who dont hold your view have no business or personal relationship with the Whitecaps et al, That is where your views in this matter and others are subject to bias Richard..or the appearance of conflict of interest.

Its something that plagues soccer in this Country and in Concacaf and on up. Personally I dislike it in Canada, and would hope any right thinking person would also.

Seems some of you on the left coast just see conflicts and transparency differently.
