How many tickets do you need. I've got 4 tickets in section 225 for $33.50. Great seats, great vantage point and cheaper than TM. email me if interested.

BTW, expect a formal announcement on tickets sales for Toronto (and possibly Montreal) today.

We REALLY need to get these last 2000 sold because I would bet that most walk ups would be Jamaican.

Good point, i'd say 90% of the walk-up will be Jamaicans.

Once the stadium is sold-out we also need to figure out a way to keep the scalpers and the ticket-less Jamaicans from finding each other. I say we setup some groups of V's to pose as scalpers and sell them fake tickets [}:)]

^ you are evil...I like it.

Selling the last 2000 tickets is going to be tough. My phone has been ringing off the hook with clubs who did not act quickly enough who are now interested in buying blocks of tickets but at $45 and up, it's almost impossible to get them to commit to large bulk purchases.

Any chance of the CSA cutting the clubs some slack and selling those tickets at a lower price point to ensure a pro-Canadian crowd?

maybe, but at this point it might be hard to get large groups together.

It's too bad that I have to say no to a lot of people but its ultimately a good problem.

Last night, I distributed about 100 tickets to people I'm involved with in youth soccer here in Mississauga and people are REALLY excited about this game. for some, it's their first Canada game. I've told them to be shocked by how much Canadian support their will be.

VPjr knows his audience better than I ever will, but I'd suggest that you don't want to bail out those late-arriving clubs at this point, even if you could. Not the club's fault necessarily - maybe they didn't hear about the game, or the person who could organize things was on vacation. But the message should go out that, "When it comes to Canada Soccer in Toronto, you snooze, you lose." This is a very powerful, very important message that needs to come out of the Jamaica match.

I might suggest the following message:

"Hey, thanks a lot for your interest, but you just can't believe how many other clubs stepped up and bought into the game. Looks like there's just nothing left. And if the game is as fun and as supportive of Canada as we're expecting, it'll be like this next year too."

"But let me do this for you and your members. Give me your e-mail, and a phone number. I'm going to get in touch on January 15. Circle the date in your calendar. I should have information by then on how your club can get in on the best pricing for the games in Toronto next year. It probably won't be $20/seat for the Hex, but I will make sure you know how you can get the best price for your group."

"If tickets go out sale early - like February early - you'll have 30 days to get your members together and make a commitment. If your team is off during the winter, then get their contact info now. Don't wait until January and start scrambling. Because there's a line-up for this year's tickets after just a couple of weeks of pre-sales and sales. Imagine what it's going to be like next year."

"I really look forward to getting your club in next year, especially after missing out on the Jamaica game. And hey, if everything works out, maybe I'll be able to point your members to a great summer road trip to a game in Montreal, or even Edmonton, next year. Did you know that your group can still buy tickets to the game in Montreal this year? Tough to arrange a road trip on short notice though, eh? But next year...well, let me know if you're interested."

^ almost every single group who has contacted me in recent days has been told, politely, that they should have acted quicker if they wanted the cheap seats.

I sent an email blast 3-4 days before the ticket window opened to about 400 club contacts I have in Ontario, advising that I would gladly help them get blocks of tickets for the game. Only a relatively small percentage contacted me early on but those that did contact me ended up buying up a good chunk of tickets (about 1000 tickets in total). Almost to the day it was announced that there were no more "cheap" seats, then the phone calls and emails started rolling in. I tried to help but there's not much you can do when there are no tickets left to sell. it's a nice problem to have. next time, you can be sure they wont be asleep at the wheel. It would be good to get the word out earlier next time but I think we've shown that we can do quite well with limited advance notice.

I just hope that there will be another opportunity (i.e. the Hex)
